Chapter 242
At exactly six o’clock that evening, Simon Young arrived at the villa to pick her up. Not knowing who she was going to meet, Vivian kept it simple-light makeup and a touch of lipstick.
However, the moment she arrived at the destination, her good mood evaporated.
“Your boss brought me here to see Grace Gifford? What is he playing at?”
Simon peeked nervously into the rearview mirror. Miss Fairchild’s face was freezing cold. Even though she wasn’t shouting, his instincts screamed that someone was about to die.
“Well…”
He smiled awkwardly. “Miss Fairchild, you should probably ask Mr. Sterling yourself. He’s already here.”
Vivian took a deep breath.
She stepped out of the car.
The restaurant looked old-fashioned but held a stellar reputation among the Northside elite. She had asked Zoe Hunt to look into it before a previous business dinner, so she knew it was a property
owned by the Gifford Family.
What exactly was Silas trying to do?
Vivian wasn’t the type to overthink things without action, so she marched straight toward the
entrance.
The man hadn’t gone inside yet. He was sitting on a chair by the door, legs crossed. The unbuttoned collar of his shirt revealed a sharp collarbone, and a pair of sunglasses rested on his high nose bridge, oozing wild, pure masculine energy.
He was certainly putting on a show.
Vivian smacked his arm lightly, plastering on a fake smile.
“Mr. Sterling, if you’re treating me to dinner, shouldn’t you pick a more romantic spot? Why are we here?”
Silas turned his head, exposing his sharp, perfectly defined jawline.
“Someone wants to see you.”
He stood up. “Let’s go.”
When he didn’t hear footsteps following him, he stopped and looked back. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m not feeling well.” Vivian reached out a hand. “Hold my hand or I’m not going.”
The man stared at her in silence.
“If you don’t hold my hand, I won’t go in.”
Her meaning was crystal clear: take it or leave it. She wasn’t desperate to see whoever was waiting inside anyway.

Chapter 242
Silas pressed his lips together. A slight frown formed above the rim of his sunglasses, but he still lifted his arm and firmly grabbed the woman’s hand. “Troublesome.”
The top VIP room naturally came with twice the service staff.
When Vivian saw the line of servers standing outside the door, she knew they had arrived.
Right on cue.
Silas knocked politely.
A booming baritone voice called out from inside, “Come in.”
Pushing the door open, they were greeted by the sight of Grace Gifford. Beside her sat a middle-aged man in a sharp suit-clearly her father.
Grace glanced up before immediately lowering her head to pour tea for her father.
Her demeanor completely ignored Vivian’s presence.
“Mr. Gifford.”
Silas gave a slight nod, his manners impeccable. “I’ve brought her. Whatever you need to say, you can tell her directly.”
Vivian shot him a sidelong glance, completely unsure of what game the man was playing.
When he took off his sunglasses, his handsome face was almost unreal.
Grace stared at him, momentarily spellbound.
