Chapter 270
Chapter 270
Unable to finish her sentence, her lips trembled.
It looked incredibly convincing.
Silas didn’t move, waiting to see what her next move would be.
But she didn’t do anything, simply staring at him with a deeply aggrieved expression. “You’re bullying me.”
“Bullying you?” Silas’s voice lacked any warmth. “You should consider yourself lucky that I generally don’t lower myself to fight with women. Otherwise, I would have thrown you out onto the street ages ago.”
He wasn’t an inherently ruthless person, but he was cunning, calculating, and never let a grudge slide.
The rumors in their social circles were true-he was absolutely not a man to be trifled with.
Vivian muttered, “You fight with me plenty.”
“That’s because you need to be put in your place, you don’t even act like a proper lady!”
He had never met anyone so relentless. Ignoring her didn’t work, scolding her didn’t work. You had to indulge her every whim, or she’d be the one throwing a tantrum.
Silas pried her hands off him, but before he could even stand up, she suddenly surged forward with surprising force, pinning him down onto the sofa.
“I don’t act like a woman?”
Vivian gritted her teeth. “Then let me show you exactly what I am!”
He had never realized she possessed so much strength. Straddling him completely, her kisses rained down erratically, landing on his cheeks, his brow, the bridge of his nose, and finally, his lips.
She took him aggressively.
Kissing, tracing.
The atmosphere in the office rapidly escalated to a fever pitch of blistering intimacy. Amidst their heavy, ragged breathing, it was impossible to tell who was the predator and who was the prey.
An eternity seemed to pass.
Vivian bit down lightly on his collarbone and pulled back.
The man’s face was flushed with the heat of passion, mixed with the lingering anger he hadn’t managed to suppress. It was an intoxicating, lethal combination.
“Are you going to keep insulting me?”
She laid against his chest, her heart hammering so hard it felt like it might burst from his ribcage.
Silas kept his eyes closed, his breathing heavy. His arms rested loosely at his sides, not holding her, yet their current position was overwhelmingly intimate.

His voice was hoarse, tinged with a hint of cynical resignation. “So this is it. You have no other tricks left.”
“I don’t need a lot of tricks, just the ones that work.”
Vivian’s gaze dropped deliberately. “You seem to be enjoying it just fine.”
She had to admit, this man was deeply repressed, overly cautious, and possessed terrifying self-control.
No wonder he and Grace had circled each other for so long without so much as a kiss. She still remembered how inexperienced he had been during their first kiss-like a nervous schoolboy.
Silas opened his eyes. The hazy fog in them had cleared, leaving only a dark, lingering trace of desire.
“Not very impressive.”
Those words were practically him taking advantage of the situation and refusing to own up to it.
Vivian let out an exasperated laugh.
She nipped at his lip. “If it’s not impressive, then so be it. But proximity is power. Even if nothing else goes my way, I’m claiming you, Silas Sterling.”
