The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 271

Chapter 271

A bizarre silence settled over the room, leaving only the uneven sound of their breathing echoing in

the space.

Silas ground his teeth; ever since this woman had entered his life, there had not been a single

moment of peace, only daily doses of fresh chaos.

He let out a heavy breath and started to stand up.

But the woman hooked her arms around his neck and dragged him right back down.

“Everyone’s gone anyway. How about… we pick up where we left off?”

She had retracted her sharp claws for now, acting as docile as a kitten while gazing at him with soft,

watery eyes.

Her face was flushed with a peach-colored glow from their kiss, looking as though she wanted to say more but was holding back.

“Vivian.”

Silas locked his sharp gaze on her, asking in a hoarse voice, “You’re so skilled at this, executing every seductive move to perfection. Are you seriously telling me you and Jonah never slept together?”

“Don’t you already know the answer to that?”

Vivian frowned, looking both wronged and angry. “Don’t tell me you’re trying to backtrack now? Silas, I have my pride too, you know.”

If it were any other woman, bringing up such a topic would inevitably be hurtful.

But she was no ordinary woman.

And she certainly wasn’t going to get her feelings hurt over a few blunt words.

Silas narrowed his eyes slightly. “You can’t blame me for suspecting you. You just know exactly how to manipulate a man’s desires. You were with Jonah for three years-are you telling me you didn’t get all this practice with him?”

“I’m a fast learner. Who says I needed a man to practice on?”

Vivian gave a soft scoff. “All it took was watching a couple of explicit movies, and I learned everything

I needed to know.”

She actually sounded proud of herself.

Silas didn’t have any outdated obsession with purity, but knowing he was the first man to claim her definitely stroked his ego in ways he wouldn’t admit.

“Silas…”

“Enough!”

He took a deep breath, gritting out, “Stop trying to start trouble and let go of me!”

Vivian put on a pouty face, but reluctantly murmured an acknowledgment and dropped her arms.

When playing games with a man, you had to know when to stop.

Too little, and the spark dies; too much, and he gets annoyed.

Even though Silas kept acting like she was a nuisance, he was clearly still in the phase of enjoying the thrill. The novelty was still fresh. If she pushed it too far and ruined that vibe, getting it back wouldn’t

be easy.

Silas’s clothes were thoroughly rumpled, his shirt hanging open to reveal the perfect, muscular lines of his chest, practically radiating pure masculine tension.

Lower down…

Certain physical reactions were very obvious.

Looking a bit flustered, he took long strides toward the bathroom connected to his lounge.

Watching him walk away, Vivian ran her tongue over her red lips. Silas Sterling… he wasn’t so invincible after all.

She smiled, taking her time sitting up and smoothing out her dress.

Ten minutes later.

The man emerged with steady, composed steps, completely restored to his usual pristine elegance. There wasn’t a single trace of his earlier embarrassment.

Vivian sat with her legs crossed, one arm draped casually over the back of the sofa. She couldn’t resist whistling at him like a construction worker. “Done so fast?”
