The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 273

Chapter 273

Silas furrowed his brow, shooting her a glare, his voice dropping low. “If you really have nothing to do, go back to your own place. Stop fooling around here.”

Vivian lounged on the sofa, propping herself up on one arm. Her eyes lingered on him thoughtfully, carrying a hint of analytical weight.

“But I’m guessing it wasn’t entirely her fault that things didn’t work out between you two. You’ve known each other for years, so why did you only confess a few months ago? Did you not have the right opportunity before?”

The man kept his head down, ignoring her.

Vivian continued, “Or maybe you just didn’t want to commit? Hmm… players are usually like that. They don’t take the initiative, they don’t say no, and they definitely don’t take responsibility.”

Coincidentally, Grace had needed exactly that kind of protective figure by her side, so neither of them really lost out or got hurt in the end.

They were two of a kind.

“Why do you talk so much?”

Silas finally couldn’t help but scoff. “Go back to your own company!”

Vivian acted as if she hadn’t heard a word, flashing a radiant smile. “If she rejected your confession, then she’s even worse than you. Since that’s the case, why don’t you play me instead? Try confessing to me-I’d definitely say yes.”

The man looked up. The smiling face across the room immediately crashed into his line of sight, looking as though her entire world revolved around him.

“Vivian, are you deaf?”

She was like a sparrow, chirping away endlessly.

“Aren’t you deaf too?” Vivian pouted. “You haven’t answered a single thing I’ve said. That’s so rude.”

“Fine. I’ll answer you.”

Silas offered a cold, mocking smirk. “If you want to wait for me to confess, keep waiting. I like women who are gentle. Do you even know what gentle means? Obedient, understanding, not annoying, not clingy, and definitely not throwing tantrums all day long. You’re the type who finds new ways to push my buttons if I don’t put you in your place every three days.”

Vivian’s mouth formed a perfect ‘O’ shape. “When have I ever done that?”

“Tell me, then-what else do you do besides cause me headaches?”

“I can do a lot of things. Want to test me?”

Silas clamped his mouth shut.

His instincts warned him that if he let her keep talking, there was no telling what outrageous thing she’d say next.

He let out a heavy breath. “Is your company really that slow? If you have nothing better to do, go find a part-time job.”

Vivian stared at him. He held a pen between his long fingers, his posture appearing casual yet carrying an innate authority. His dark eyes seemed to hold thousands of stars, shining dangerously even in the dim light.

Suddenly, she felt that Grace was truly a fool.

How could she let a man like this slip through her fingers?

“Do you know why you and Grace didn’t work out?”

The man raised an eyebrow, gesturing for her to continue.
