Chapter 274
No matter how you spun it, that sounded like it was said through gritted teeth. But Vivian only heard what she wanted to hear. She placed a very light kiss on his cheek, the sound soft and suggestive.
Her direct, unapologetic gaze landed squarely on his face. “Don’t worry, the best thrills are yet to come. I’ll make sure this relationship takes you to heaven… and ruins you for anyone else.”
Silas didn’t respond, nor did he push her away.
He suddenly felt that his otherwise mundane life had been incredibly dull, a repetitive cycle of gray days. But then, completely out of nowhere, a vibrant flower had fiercely bloomed right in front of him.
She was undoubtedly dangerous.
And mysterious.
But it was exactly that combination that sparked his desire to explore, urging him to peel back her layers one by one.
He turned his head, and suddenly their eyes locked.
Vivian froze for a second, not blinking.
The depths of the man’s dark eyes seemed to harbor a smoldering fire, slowly spreading outward as if it wanted to reduce her to ash, or perhaps consume her entirely.
This strange staredown carried an inexplicable sense of rivalry, pulling them both in. Neither looked
away.
Sometimes, the impact of a gaze was far more intense than any physical contact. The connection twisted tighter and tighter, effortlessly making their blood run hot until they couldn’t pull back.
After a long moment, Silas’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and he shifted his gaze.
His voice carried a raspy edge.
“If you’re done eating, I’ll have Simon take you home.”
Vivian snapped out of her daze, licking her flushed lips. Her fingers tapped lightly against his shoulder. “I came all the way here because I wanted to go home with you. You’re kicking me out again?”
“If you stay, you’ll just cause me more trouble.”
Silas swatted her hand away. “Behave, or I’ll have them put a sign up at the front door.”
Vivian instinctively asked, “Saying what?”
“No dogs or Vivian Fairchild allowed.”
“Ugh.”
Chapter 274
Silas let out a muffled grunt, a flicker of shock crossing his face.
Vivian had just punched him in the arm, and she hadn’t held back. It was a solid hit.
“I came here to cling to you because I like you! And you called me a dog? You’re the dog!”
The woman stormed out of the office in a huff, completely unbothered by the fact that she had just
assaulted a billionaire.
It wasn’t until Vivian got into a cab that she checked her phone. There were a few unread messages from Zoe Hunt, stating that the regulatory departments had issued the notices and Astra Media could resume operations.
She replied with a quick acknowledgment.
Since they had already treated today as a day off, they would return to regular work hours tomorrow.
She rolled down the window. The stifling, humid air rushed in, blowing away the last lingering traces
of alcohol.
