Chapter 303
Conflicts between men had to be settled the way men did. Vivian had no idea about any of this. Even if she did, she would only cross her arms and watch the show. Who won or lost didn’t matter to her.
She had spent over a week in the hospital, and Silas had stayed with her the entire time.
With countless tasks piling up, he was exceptionally busy after she was discharged.
In the morning, Vivian ate breakfast alone.
Over this period, Martha had figured out her tastes and cooked all her favorite foods, making for an enjoyable meal.
As soon as she arrived at the office, she received a call from an unknown number.
Vivian was organizing documents for an upcoming meeting, so she simply put the phone on speaker and set it aside.
“What are you doing?” Liam’s slightly hoarse voice came through the line.
“I’m at work, obviously. Are you still sleeping, Liam?”
“Yeah.”
“Must be nice. If I were a spoiled heiress, I’d sleep in every day too.”
One teasing remark was enough. Vivian feigned a sigh. “Why the sudden call? Did you miss me?”
“Yes.”
Liam didn’t deny it.
Vivian glanced at her phone. When he didn’t elaborate, she stayed silent, focusing on the proposal in her hands.
For a moment, the only sound between them was the rustling of paper.
A few seconds passed like this.
“Are you busy?” he asked.
Vivian always believed that an attractive voice was a bonus for anyone. But while some faked it, others possessed a naturally captivating tone that sent a thrill down to the bone.
Silas was one of those people.
And Liam-
Though his style was different from Silas’s, it was uniquely charming in its own way.

Vivian set down her documents and picked up the phone. “Not overly busy, but I do have to work.”
After a long pause, Liam threw off the covers and got out of bed. Wearing a simple gray loungewear set, he walked over to the window. The moment he opened it, he coughed twice.
The weather outside was clearing up, and the lawn in the yard was lush and green.
From his angle, Astra Media’s building should have been perfectly visible, but unfortunately, the view was obstructed.
His handsome face looked sharp in the natural light. “I heard you were sick recently. Was Silas taking care of you?”
“Mhm,” Vivian replied, leaning back lazily. “Isn’t that what he’s supposed to do?”
Liam hummed in agreement.
“Do you have a cold?”
“Just a minor chill. It’s nothing.”
If he said it was nothing, then it was nothing. Vivian hadn’t really intended to dote on him anyway, but the silence on the line was growing awkward.
“Do you have something important to say, Liam? If not, I’m hanging up.”
“Bring me dinner tonight.”
*Excuse me?*
“My house is only six miles from your office. Be here at seven-thirty with food, or I’ll show up
at South Park to eat.”
