The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 473

The Sterling and Fairchild families were bonded through the older generation. Their fathers had been close comrades in their youth, which led to this absurd arranged marriage.

So, could it be due to a grudge from the previous generation?

The old patriarch of the Fairchild family had passed away many years ago.

Since then, the two families hadn't interacted much.

But to say they had cut off all ties entirely...

That wasn't true either.

At the very least, Grandpa Sterling was still adamant about this arranged marriage.

Why?

Leaning back in his seat, Silas suddenly felt as if he were enveloped in a thick fog, with something slowly rising to the surface.

He pinched the bridge of his nose, his mind gradually clearing.

Little fox...

Your tail is about to show.

Just then, his phone vibrated.

Sloan had sent a message asking him to come out. Seeing that the address was nearby, Silas started the engine and decided to swing by.

When he arrived, Sloan was still on the first floor, giving instructions to the receptionist. He was leaning over the counter so casually he practically looked ready to crawl behind it.

Silas walked over, grabbed him by the back of his collar, and yanked him down.

"..."

"Oh, you're here?"

"What do you want? Speak."

"What's the rush?" Sloan checked the time. "It's still early. Let's go in and sit for a bit. I have a new friend to introduce to you."

"Not interested."

Seeing that Silas really intended to leave, Sloan reached out and grabbed him.

"No way. Are you ditching your brothers the second you get a woman? Did Vivian set a curfew for you? Don't worry about it, I'll provide your alibi."

"..."

Silas stared at him with dark eyes, using two long fingers to pinch Sloan's wrist.

He pushed his hand away.

"!!!"

Sloan immediately stood up straight. "Who's your ex-girlfriend?"

It couldn't be Vivian, could it?

That would be one hell of a show!

Before Zane could answer, a woman's furious voice echoed from the entrance. "How many times do I have to fucking tell you? Stop bothering me! Stop bothering me! Not only are you annoying, but you always screw up the things I ask you to do! If you dropped it, go find it right now... Forget it! I'll go with you. Let's go! What are you standing there for?"

Sloan obviously witnessed the whole scene. He was about to explain when he noticed the man beside him curling his lips into a smile.

"That one. She's my ex-girlfriend."

"..."

Sloan felt his worldview crumble once again.

With one hand in his pocket, Zane watched the entrance with deep, meaningful eyes. The furious woman had already turned back toward the parking lot with her driver.

He suddenly spoke up. "What's the relationship between Scarlett and Silas?"

"Them?"

Sloan waved it off. "What kind of relationship could they have? Whatever relationship she has with me, she has the same with Silas. Besides, Silas has a woman now."
