The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 489

"Oh."

Vivian replied flatly. "If that's it, I've seen what I came to see. I'm leaving."

"Stop right there!" Dominic's breathing was ragged. It took him a moment to collect himself before demanding, "Have you thought about what I offered?"

Vivian raised a brow, masking her surprise, and turned back around.

"What offer?"

"You—!"

Dominic glared at her stunning face and sneered coldly. "I told you, give me three billion dollars. I won't ask for the company shares, and you will sever all ties with the Fairchild family forever."

"Three billion dollars?"

Vivian had no idea Dominic had already tried extorting Silas. She assumed he was just inflating his demands.

"Three billion..." She repeated the number softly, a genuine laugh escaping her. "Should I say you're overestimating yourself, or should I be flattered I'm worth that much?"

Dominic's face darkened. He had no patience for her sarcasm and hissed through clenched teeth, "You're the one who shattered this family first! I trusted you, and you used that to steal company funds and flee to Northside. Did you ever think of me? Did you ever care about the Fairchild family?"

His words slammed into Vivian like dead weights.

Painting her as a ruthless traitor.

Painting her as a wicked woman who did nothing but torment her innocent father and sister.

Her eyes were bloodshot, but not a single tear fell.

She stared unblinking at Dominic, her voice a low, raspy whisper. "And when you and Jonah teamed up to trick me... when you planned to cut out my heart and give it to Amara... did you hesitate for even a single second? Did you ever remember that I am also your daughter?"

Dominic choked on his words, suddenly silent.

"Or maybe..."

He had never expected her to genuinely sever their ties.

Stuttering over his words, his voice trembled with rage. "Aren't you afraid of karma?"

"Hah."

Vivian stared at him with chilling apathy.

"If karma actually worked, you would have died a hundred times over by now, wouldn't you?"

Her gaze was too piercing, sharp as a needle sinking deep into Dominic's chest. He couldn't force a single word past his throat. All he could do was watch his eldest daughter walk away, disappearing from his sight.

Vivian walked out of the hospital and got into her car.

She glanced up at the hospital window for a brief second before looking away.

Dominic... you'd better not disappoint me.
