About twenty minutes later, Silas's car appeared in the distance. The woman's figure came closer and closer, gradually revealing that unforgettable, stunning face.
She wore a black trench coat over a matching dress with a slightly hollowed-out neckline, her luminous skin peeking through the lace trim.
Looking bored, she casually stuffed her hands into her coat pockets.
She kicked at the fallen leaves on the ground, one by one.
"Vivian."
Silas watched her for a moment before speaking, his voice husky and incredibly appealing.
Vivian looked up, and the moment she saw him, a radiant smile bloomed across her face. She jogged over and got into the car.
As the door opened, a blast of cool air mixed with her signature sweet scent rushed in, filling the space.
"Did you miss me? You suddenly decided to pick me up today."
Silas kept his eyes on the road, his long fingers resting on the steering wheel, turning it effortlessly.
He didn't speak. His dark eyes betrayed no emotion as he simply reminded her, "Seatbelt."
The woman turned to look at him, her clear eyes visibly dancing with amusement. She let out an "Oh" and pulled the seatbelt across her chest.
The drive back was completely silent.
Silas occasionally glanced over. She looked exhausted. Her head was tilted to the side, and her thick hair swayed with the motion of the car, completely covering half of her face, making it impossible to see her expression.
The shift in her mood was obvious, causing his brow to furrow slightly.
They arrived home.
It was dead quiet. The woman had fallen asleep and hadn't woken up.
Silas didn't wake her. He leaned back in his seat, his gaze softening as it rested on her for a long time.
When Vivian finally woke up, it was completely dark outside.
There was no sound in the yard, only the gentle hum of the heater flowing through the car.
She turned her head and immediately crashed into the man's burning, intense gaze, blazing like a fire.
"Why... didn't you wake me?" Vivian blinked in surprise for two seconds before a wicked smile tugged at her lips. "Don't tell me you were fantasizing while watching me sleep?"
