He kissed her face inch by inch, his hot, heavy breath brushing against her skin.
He had probably intended to hold back and take things slow, but in the end, his control snapped.
He carried her toward the sofa with long, determined strides, giving her absolutely no time to react or brace herself. The fiery wave of lust crashed over them instantly.
It was urgent, suppressed, and entirely devouring.
He held her with a force that felt like he wanted to fuse her directly into his bloodstream.
Vivian Fairchild's breathing was erratic. She was only stunned for a brief moment before a blazing fire ignited in her own luminous eyes.
She shifted backward slightly, instinctively trying to adjust into a more comfortable position.
But in the next second, the man cupped the back of her neck and pushed her forward.
With a swift roll, their positions flipped.
She was now straddling him.
Their eyes locked, burning with an intense, scorching heat.
"You take the lead," his hoarse voice was thick with seductive affection.
Vivian breathed heavily through parted lips, the rapid rise and fall of her chest a mesmerizing sight in the dim light of the room.
She... did need a mind-numbing release to alleviate the heavy suffocation weighing on her heart.
And so, the night truly began.
Amidst the slick sheen of their passion, she heard the man's low, rumbling voice. "Vivian, be my girlfriend."
Her mind was too hazy with pleasure, and she didn't answer.
He pressed a kiss to her brow and repeated, "Let's be a real couple."
It wasn't a confession, nor did it need to be.
Vivian just opened her mouth to speak, but she was instantly pulled back into another suffocating wave of ecstasy.
—
When Vivian woke up the next morning, the space beside her was empty. The curtains hadn't been drawn, and the warm morning sunlight poured in unhindered. She instinctively raised a hand to shield her eyes.
She laid there for a moment, gathering her bearings before rolling out of bed.
As soon as her feet hit the floor, she paused.
Right next to the bedside rug sat a perfectly placed pair of slippers.
