She glanced up at the man beside her and noticed he looked slightly horrified by the noise.
"We're already here. Let's go."
Vivian actually laughed out loud, grabbing his arm and dragging him inside.
The place wasn't actually that bad. It was the most famous night market in Northside, anchored by a massive, highly-rated seafood joint.
Someone must have highly recommended it to Silas, but they clearly failed to mention the chaotic atmosphere.
Since it was packed, all the private rooms were taken. The hostess led them to a booth tucked in the very back corner. Staring at the outrageously attractive couple, she couldn't help but steal a few extra glances.
"Um... what can I get for the two of you?"
She barely got the sentence out before her face turned bright red.
Silas had just sat down and was meticulously wiping the table with a napkin, but he hadn't forgotten the menu.
"Bring us one of every signature dish. Give us a three-pound lobster, and a large bowl of seafood chowder."
The waitress quickly repeated the order to confirm and hurried away.
As she rushed past the empty tables, she was so distracted she actually crashed straight into a chair.
"Look at what you did. You've got her entirely completely lost in the sauce."
The man looked up. "Are you lost in the sauce?"
"Obviously. Isn't it written all over my face?"
Vivian rested her chin in her hands and stared at him, her eyes practically sparkling with stars. She had always thought a man fiercely focused on a task was the sexiest thing on earth.
Silas raised an eyebrow, ignoring the blatant flirting. His naturally arrogant and aristocratic demeanor made everything he did look completely justified, as if the world should simply cater to him.
The air was thick with the rich, smoky scent of street food. The restaurant was filled with rowdy friend groups and quiet couples tucked into booths.
Vivian let her gaze wander over the crowd before bringing it right back to the man sitting across from her.
"Did Simon tell you this place had the best seafood?"
The man briefly lifted his eyes. "You certainly know him well."
