Chapter 94
He squinted his eyes to take a peek, then let out two exaggerated, fake coughs.
Silas walked over, his voice filled with respect. “Grandpa.”
“Oh, the busy man finally showed up?”
Old Mr. Sterling realized his voice sounded too energetic, so he lowered it a bit and said, I thought you really didn’t care whether this useless old man lived or died.”
“Grandpa…”
Silas’s voice was deep, mostly laced with resignation.
He stepped aside, revealing Vivian standing behind him. “I brought your granddaughter-in-law to see you.”
The old man’s eyes widened, and he instantly perked up.
He sat up, looking Vivian up and down, his gaze growing more appreciative by the second.
“Wonderful! I knew you wouldn’t disappoint!”
He glanced at his grandson. No, no, no… this kid was just going through the motions. How could he appreciate it?
Hé turned to Simon and exclaimed excitedly, “Did you know, the first time I saw this girl when she was little, she was so cute and pink. I knew she’d grow up to be a stunning beauty, just like her grandmother… And what do you know? Just look at her! Can you find a better-looking granddaughter-in-law in all of Northside?”
Since the attention had shifted to him, Simon could only nod continuously in agreement.
It was the first time he had ever seen the old man praise someone so enthusiastically.
Although it was true… wasn’t it a bit over the top?
The other two, however, didn’t even flinch.
The boss was understandable; after all, he couldn’t see, so he had no real concept of Miss Fairchild’s beauty.
But why was Miss Fairchild so calm about it?
Yet, this attitude made the old man extremely satisfied.
He even forgot he was supposed to be “hospitalized,” looking at Vivian with shining eyes, and
reached out to hold her hand.

Chapter 94
“Let me tell you, girl, when I first brought up this marriage, that useless father of yours kep: making excuses. He thought I wanted his younger daughter, the one who does nothing but burn through money.”
“Bah! An illegitimate child without a proper title, I couldn’t stand the sight of her!”
“From the very beginning, I wanted you to be my granddaughter-in-law.”
“Don’t worry. If Silas ever dares to bully you in the future, just come and complain to me. ‘ll beat him half to death!”
The hand holding hers was rough, but for the first time, Vivian genuinely felt a sensation called warmth.
She smiled and said, “Okay, thank you, Grandpa.”
“Eh?”
The old man wasn’t satisfied. “Didn’t you two already get your certificate? Why are you still
calling me Grandpa?”
“…Grandpa.”
“That’s more like it!”
Vivian was obedient and sensible, making the old man smile brightly with just a few words. Silas sat quietly on the side, even casually drinking tea with George.
The old man sneaked a glance and whispered to Vivian, “Girl, don’t forget our agreement.”
