The teacher in charge of the third grade was Mr. Wright.
Mr. Wright was a local, though not specifically from Lowell Village.
As he approached the classroom, he caught Xavier's comment about beating the boy eight hundred times.
Arrogant!
Absolutely infuriatingly arrogant!
Mr. Wright's face fell. He pushed the door open violently, letting it slam against the wall with a loud bang.
Mr. Wright thought this would be incredibly intimidating.
He cleared his throat and demanded, "Who is causing trouble?"
Xavier turned his head.
When Mr. Wright met his gaze, his first thought was that someone like this didn't belong here.
Then Mr. Wright remembered hearing about some TV show filming at the school recently...
"Are you with the production crew?" Mr. Wright blurted out.
"Ha, finally someone with a bit of sense," Xavier remarked, still completely unbothered.
Mr. Wright's face turned green. "I don't care who you are, how can you just bully our students like this?"
"Let go of him!" Mr. Wright yelled, rushing over to pry Xavier's arm away. Xavier didn't look very old, but no matter how hard Mr. Wright pulled, he couldn't move the boy's arm an inch.
Daisy quickly tugged at Xavier's sleeve again.
Only then did Xavier release his grip, letting the boy fall back into his seat.
The boy wailed hysterically, "He was going to beat me to death! I want my mom! I want my mom!"
Xavier scoffed. "Spineless coward. Weren't you having fun running your mouth just a minute ago?"
Mr. Wright wanted to say he was going too far, but meeting Xavier's gaze, the words completely failed him.
Holding in his frustration, Mr. Wright figured this was a major incident. He headed straight for the principal's office to call Mrs. Watson.
Billy's family ran a butchery. His mother marched over wearing a leather apron and wielding a massive cleaver.
