The Stolen Heiress: The Billionaires’ Little Star novel Chapter 35

Quinn starved for an entire night and didn't sleep a wink. When he got up the next morning, his expression was even gloomier.

But Daisy wasn't afraid of him at all.

She said stiffly, "I'm going to school now. Goodbye."

Quinn's stomach was already feeling a bit sick. He grabbed the little girl by the arm. "You're not having breakfast?"

"I'll eat at school. It's free," Daisy replied.

[You weren't like this when Xavier was here. You at least steamed a potato for him and got him water to drink.]

[Haha, I don't know why, but I suddenly find Daisy even cuter like this.]

[Treating people differently based on how close she is to them—these double standards are winning hearts.]

Quinn originally wanted to ask, *What about me?*

But as the words reached his lips, he realized how pointless they were. He narrowed his eyes and made a brisk decision. "I'm going to school with you."

Daisy just gave a noncommittal, "Oh." It was impossible to tell if she was happy about it.

Quinn suddenly felt stifled.

He was usually a young master surrounded by people vying for his attention. Although he considered himself above petty desires and looked down on people sucking up to him...

Being ignored to this extent was... definitely hard to get used to.

Quinn didn't say a word. He packed a few personal items and followed Daisy out on the road.

The area that had collapsed in the landslide hadn't been fully cleared yet, so Daisy took an even more winding detour today.

"This path is dangerous," Quinn said in a deep voice.

The path was too narrow; one could easily slide down the slope.

Daisy's thin, small figure walked ahead. Without turning her head, she said, "Is it?"

Quinn grabbed her. "Stop walking."

"I have to go to school." Daisy pushed his hand away.

Quinn had no choice but to follow, thinking coldly to himself that he'd just watch and see if she tripped later... The production crew was insane to let a kid walk a path like this alone.

A quiet, almost deathly stillness enveloped them.

The biting morning wind whipped across their cheeks. Quinn couldn't help but pull his jacket tighter around himself. But the slender figure ahead seemed oblivious, simply putting one foot in front of the other.
