Chapter 110 Too Ashamed to Speak

After Venus set down the ancient silver artifact, she said she needed to leave.

Drake could tell she was intentionally keeping her distance from him. He’d originally wanted to invite her to stay for dinner but decided against it.

However, he noticed her complexion looked off. She was pale and restless.

“Ms. Oracle, are you feeling unwell today?”

“I probably got a little cold. It’s nothing. I should head back now.” Venus waved her hand and didn’t linger.

Drake watched her retreating figure, then looked down at the ancient silver artifact in his hand. It felt warm in his palm.

Saul smiled. “So Ms. Oracle spent 600 million to buy you a gift. Mr. Drake, why didn’t you let me tell her this ancient silver artifact was yours to begin with?”

Drake said calmly, “There’s nothing to say. She probably just didn’t want to owe me anything, so she returned it intact.

“Saul, since she won’t accept money, go find some health supplements to send her. She’s too thin!”

Just now, watching her slender figure, she looked even more fragile than he was.

He was used to taking supplements all the time.

Saul nodded and hurried to the basement storage to gather a pile of nutritional products, then rushed next door with armfuls of bags.

June opened the door and was shocked to see Saul nearly buried under nutritional supplements. “Saul, what’s all this?”

“Mr. Drake is sending these supplements to Ms. Oracle. Where is she?”

“Ms. Oracle drank a bowl of medicine as soon as she got back and went to sleep. I don’t know if I should accept all this. Why don’t you take it back for now and wait until Ms. Oracle wakes-”

“Who takes back a gift after sending it?” Saul set down all the bags in one go and left.

Meanwhile, at the Burn Mansion.

Axel had locked himself in his study room ever since returning from the auction.

Harvey knocked on his door for quite a while before it finally opened.

“Axel, what’s wrong? Having any trouble at the company” Harvey asked with concern.

His eldest son looked quite haggard, like he’d taken a serious blow. His whole demeanor was deflated.

Axel glanced at his father, opened his mouth, but still couldn’t bring himself to say that he’d been humiliated beyond measure today.

Fortunately, his father had retired from active business and basically no longer managed company affairs.

News of what happened at the auction hadn’t reached his father’s ears yet.

“Dad, I’m fine. Just a bit tired from work.” Axel brushed him off with a random excuse.

But Harvey had to bring up the worst possible topic. “Didn’t I tell you to go find Venus and get her to move back home? Did you go see her?”

It was fine when he didn’t mention it, but the moment he did, Axel’s mind filled with images of being humiliated by Venus at the auction.

“Dad!” Axel clenched his fists in shame and anger.

Seeing his son’s eyes turn red with rage, Harvey was startled. “What happened? You didn’t go?

“Alex, didn’t I tell you that no matter how pathetic she is, she’s still your sister …”

Axel angrily interrupted, “Dad! Stop talking! I don’t have that kind of sister! Venus will never be my sister!”

Harvey was shocked by his outburst.

His eldest son had the most stable temperament of all his sons. When did he become so volatile?

“Axel, did Venus refuse to come home and insult you?” Harvey guessed.

Thinking of how Venus had the audacity to talk back even to Julian, he had to suspect his eldest son had been rejected by Venus.

Axel closed his eyes, and the image of himself being forced to publicly call Venus his sister flooded his mind again.
