Chapter 111 Someone Fell In

“Lumi, this isn’t your concern. Besides, with Venus’s curent mental state, she might hurt you if you go.

“By the way, I heard from Rayne that he has a luxury brand event tomorrow night on a yacht. He can bring a plus-one. Do you want to go?”

Lumi looked worriedly toward the study room upstairs and shook her head. “Axel’s in a bad mood. I want to stay home and keep him company, make some of his favorite pastries.”

Harvey felt deeply touched. “Lumi, you’re such a good kid. If only you were my biological daughter…”

At these words,

s eyes dimmed.

Harvey realized he’d said the wrong thing and quickly tried to console her. “Hey! Blood relation or not, you’re the daughter I’ve raised for 18 years! You may not be my biological daughter, but you’re as good as

one.

“If you don’t want to go, that’s fine. I’ll go ask Bree.”

Lumi nodded obediently.

She’d overheard Harvey and Axel’s conversation earlier Seeing how much the family still despised Venus put her mind at ease.

But if Dad didn’t like Venus, why did he insist on bringing her home?

Could it be because of Grandpa?

But Grandpa didn’t seem particularly fond of Venus either. He came home for just one day … then left again. Was it Venus? Was she the one who drove him away?

Whatever. As long as the whole family united in their dislike of Venus, that’s enough.

At Stormvale 44 Villa, Venus slept for an entire day and night.

During that time, June was afraid she might have died in her sleep, so she tiptoed into the bedroom and gently placed her finger under Venus’s nose to check for breathing.

She checked that Venus was still breathing, then retreated from the bedroom with a quiet sigh of relief.

Florian came back to absorb energy from a candle and sked about Venus.

When June said she was on her period and sleeping, Florian’s pale face turned red and he coughed awkwardly for quite a while.

“Then… then I’ll make her a cup of ginger tea.”

June smiled. “No need. Ms. Oracle already drank her medicinal brew. I asked the herbalist, and those herbs are all for replenishing blood and energy. They’re definitely more effective than ginger tea.

“It’s just that Ms. Oracle has been sleeping too long. She’s been out for a whole day and night and still hasn’t woken up.

Finished

“Girls have those days. They need special care during that time. Less movement and more rest is the right approach.” Florian grabbed a candle and floated outside. “My second sister-Marri Sharp is going to a yacht party tonight. I’m going to check it out. I’ll leave Venus in your care.”

The yacht event was hosted by a luxury brand endorsed by Rayne. It was held on the river, where invited guests could admire the night scenery and enjoy fine dining on a luxurious yacht.

As the banquet began, Florian floated by the tables, inhaling deeply of the food’s aroma.

“Still not as good as the candles Venus bought me.”

Florian was bored and wanted to find Marri to play with but after floating around he couldn’t spot her anywhere. Listening to people nearby, he learned that the second heiress, Marri, hadn’t come this time.

He idly started playing pranks on people.

He saw Darcy was there, and so was Rayne. Next to them was a girl in a princess dress wearing a crystal tiara. She seemed to be Rayne’s sixth sister, Bree.

Watching Bree strut around proudly, Florian got the itch to mess with her.

He floated over, about to yank off the crystal tiara, when he heard exclamations from the crowd.

“Someone fell in!”

“Quick, save them!”

Florian immediately floated over to look, and what he saw next shocked him greatly.

The person who’d fallen in the water was none other than Sophia Jynn, the young daughter of the luxury brand’s owner.

Sophia was struggling in the icy river water. Several people had jumped in to save her but couldn’t catch
