Chapter 59 Picking on Rayne
“Judge, are you deliberately picking on me? Why question only me?”

As the city’s top actor, Rayne was used to being indulged. Being singled out today rubbed him the wrong way, and he was eager to find out who dared to challenge him.
“And I recall there are only 20 judges here. You seem like an extra.
“Who are you?”
Rayne glared into the shadowed panel of judges, his gaze icy.
“I doubt you’re even a judge. You’re here just to cause trouble!”
The more he listened, the more that voice rang a bell-it sounded just like Venus.
Regardless, he needed to uncover who was behind this.
Who was trying to sabotage his chance at becoming Zrebert’s brand ambassador?
A ten-year contract as ambassador meant a fortune every year.
“Organizers, I demand you reveal this person’s name!”
He shouted furiously.
The other judges already knew that this mysterious person was personally brought in by Darcy.
Everyone turned to Darcy.
Darcy leaned close and whispered, “Ms. Oracle, would you like to step aside for now?”
Venus replied with calm composure, “Make it public.”
Swish!
At her command, a spotlight swept over the judges’ section.
Rayne squinted against the glare, and when he spotted Venus sitting there confidently, his expression twisted in shock. “It’s you!
“I knew it you’re the one sabotaging me!
“Who allowed you in here?”
Forgetting they were filming, he jabbed a finger toward Venus and snapped, “You-get out!”
“Excuse me, are you trying to expel the consultant I invited?” Darcy interjected coolly.
Rayne froze. “Mr. Weston? You’re saying Venus was invited by you? As a consultant?
“No way! She’s just some country nobody. How could she be a consultant? That’s absurd!”

Chapter 59 Picking on Rayne

Darcy’s tone sharpened. “Ms. Burn is indeed the consultant I appointed. Her qualifications have been recognized by all the judges. Any complaints?”
He had already anticipated Rayne’s skepticism, so before the show began, he’d personally introduced Venus to the other judges.

Initially, he’d meant only to name her as the launch consultant, but one judge had tried to humiliate her publicly.
To everyone’s surprise, Venus stayed composed, resolved the issue effortlessly, and earned the respect of the entire panel-including him.
Rayne turned toward the judges, bewildered.
They each nodded in agreement.
“She understands Zrebert’s 150 years history better than any of us.”
“Ms. Burn pointed out facts even I didn’t know, and I’m a professional. I’m impressed.”
“Even as a judge, Ms. Burn would be more than qualified!”
Hearing the flood of compliments, Rayne’s face darkened.
How could Venus possibly be the well-educated expert they described?
She’d barely attended school in the countryside-practically half illiterate.
And now they were calling her learned? Ridiculous.
Rayne’s glare shifted to Darcy.
More than the judges’ praise, what he couldn’t stomach was Darcy defending her.
What kind of spell had Venus cast on all of them?
“Mr. Rayne, since you mentioned they tested your Zrebert knowledge in Round One, how about I ask you a few questions? You should be able to answer them easily, right?” Venus said with a faint smile.
Rayne ground his teeth. “Fine. Go ahead.”
A backwoods girl like her-how much could she possibly know?
There’s no way she could ask anything truly challenging.
Venus said, “Zrebert is a renowned tourist city. Tell me how many 5A-level scenic sites it has, how many 4A- level ones, and how many are 3A-level.”
