Chapter 60 Easy Question

“Such an easy question. As a native of Zrebert, you can’t answer it?” Venus smiled. “Even if you haven’t spent much time here, as someone aiming to be the spokesperson, you should’ve studied up on Zrebert beforehand.”

That single sentence cut off every excuse he could think of.

Rayne’s eyes burned with anger. Under the judges’ doubtful gazes, he ground his teeth and blurted from vague memory, “There are five 5A attractions, eight 4A attractions, and 13 3A attractions.”

Next to him, Josh heard his clueless teammate and couldn’t help snickering.

That sealed Rayne’s fate.

“Well? I got it right, didn’t I?” Rayne saw Venus stay silent and assumed his guess was correct. He spoke with arrogance.

“As someone from Zrebert, of course I know my city!

“Ms. Burn, you really underestimate people.”

As soon as he finished, Venus laughed softly. Darcy shot him a look of pure contempt, and the judges’ expressions turned strangely amused.

Offstage, the assistant panicked-stomping and tugging his hair while whispering frantically, “Mr. Rayne, that’s wrong, wrong!”

Rayne finally caught the judges murmuring to each other, faces twisting. It dawned on him too late.

Before he could say another word,

Venus turned to Josh. “Mr. Walker, your answer?”

Josh cleared his throat, stood upright, and said clearly, “Zrebert has seven 5A scenic sites, nine 4A sites, and 16 3A sites.”

Venus looked back at Rayne. “That’s correct. Mr. Rayne, maybe your mind’s fuzzy, or you just don’t know your own city, hm?”

“I-I got nervous and slipped up. Ask me another question and I’ll get it right.” Rayne insisted stubbornly. He wasn’t about to admit defeat to Venus.

Venus said, “Zrebert has always been known for its talented people. Name five cultural figures who were born here.”

“That’s child’s play. Zrebert’s produced tons of famous names. Not just five-I can list ten easily!”

“Ms. Burn’s basically feeding him answers.”

“This one’s even simpler than the last. Every kid here learns that.”

The judges still looked at Rayne expectantly.

Chapter 60 Easy Question

Between them, he had the greater fame. He was still a strong contender-if he could answer properly.

Rayne listed two names, then stumbled through a third. He stood under the lights, forcing out words, his face tightening, sweat forming on his temples, brows furrowed. He dragged it out painfully long but couldn’t come up with another name.

His gaze flicked toward the judges’ table. Venus was smiling at him with that infuriatingly calm expression.

His already muddled brain exploded into chaos.

She was doing it on purpose-to humiliate him.

Rayne’s complexion turned pale. All he could think about was wiping that smug smile off her face.

The judge who’d been most supportive of Rayne looked visibly disappointed.

“Rayne, Zrebert is your hometown, and you can’t even answer the basics. Sorry, but you’re not qualified to be the city’s image spokesperson.”

“I-I’m not-” Rayne’s face burned. He wanted to argue but couldn’t find any footing, so he vented all his anger on Venus.

“Venus, just because I scolded you earlier for breaking Lumi’s gift, you’re taking revenge on me like this?”
