Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 104 by Ansel Bick
"Most of what I said was a lie. There was no real feeling behind it, and I never loved you. Just like you never loved me. We made a pretty good contractual couple.
We both got what we needed."
She wanted to make things crystal clear, hoping he would finally start acting normal and let her go.
Mathis's face turned grim, but he remained silent.
Bianca couldn't care less how he felt. She wasn't going to bottle things up anymore. She was pregnant, and keeping her anger buried wasn't good for the baby.
"Didn't you also claim there were no other women, Mr. Jagger? Didn't that blow up right in your face? Not only do you have another woman, but you also have a child with her.
And that woman gets your absolute devotion. You've already made your choice, so you don't need to come here and play the devoted husband. You know I won't expose you two. I just can't bring myself to give you my blessing. If it were literally any other woman, I would have cheered loudly for your great romance."
Mathis's expression was unreadable. "I specifically chose Cynthia. As long as it pisses you off, Mrs. Jagger, why wouldn't I?"
The fact that they were together really did infuriate her. "Yes, I'm angry. But so what? I'm still going to live my life."
She grabbed her bag, getting ready to leave, when Mathis's phone buzzed.
Bianca caught a glimpse of the screen. The contact name was 'My Sweetheart'. Obviously Cynthia. How intimately sickening!
She didn't stick around to listen to Mathis and Cynthia's sweet nothings. As she moved toward the door, Mathis walked out of the office ahead of her.
The property deed remained untouched on her desk.
Bianca took a picture and sent it to Hector Goodwin: *[Mathis gave me this. Can I accept it?]*
Hector didn't reply immediately. Unsure of what to do with the deed, she waited in the office for his message.
Half an hour later, Hector called her.
If she sold that mansion, she could literally retire on the spot.
She asked Cillian to help her sell the property and casually brought up the patent issue.
"Mathis threw a fit. I have no idea where he got the 'evidence', but he reported my MH1102 patent for plagiarism. I consulted a lawyer, and my only option is to settle with him.
Negotiations broke down. The Patent Office will likely revoke the patent in about two weeks, and it'll be made public. I won't be able to stay at the company. I can't be part of the TOKEN Project anymore. I'm sorry, Cillian. My personal issues are delaying the project."
Forcing a core developer out right before a critical launch—Mathis certainly knew exactly when to strike.
With the timing of his attack, if she hadn't been so desperate to divorce him, she really would have caved.
Cillian sighed. "I'll talk to Professor Adler and see if there's any room to turn this around. The professor still carries some weight with Mathis. Let's hope he doesn't completely back you into a corner."
