Summary for Chapter 114: The Transactional Marriage That Imploded

Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 114 by Ansel Bick

"Did you really never feel that I loved you over these past three years?" Mathis asked.

Bianca found the question laughable. "No. From the day I moved in, you fired all the housekeepers and made me serve you. You were the untouchable master of the house, and I was your maid. I knew the massive gap in our social standing, and I accepted your charity. I knew my place. I knew I had no right to resent you. So I quietly accepted the fact that you didn't love me, that you loved someone else.

"But you can't demand that I stay chained to you for the rest of my life. I'm not that generous—especially not when it comes to the daughter of my enemy. Actually, she is my enemy. If her family hadn't stolen my family's assets, my mother wouldn't have died so young. So yes, I hate her entire family. What you feel for me isn't love; it's just the possessive irritation of losing a pet."

They had reached the dumpsters. Without a second of hesitation, Bianca tossed the blind boxes into the trash—just as she was tossing away her marriage.

Watching her do it sent a sharp, agonizing twist through Mathis's chest.

He didn't say another word, but he followed her every step of the way back. He kept a perfect, precise half-meter distance between them.

Bianca had absolutely no intention of letting him inside. In his current state, if they were alone in an enclosed space, there was no telling what he might do.

Mathis waited quietly as she approached her door. Bianca frowned. "Are you going to leave now?"

"Bianca, I have my pride. I am not going to keep begging you over and over again. You keep saying I have no feelings for you. If I were truly heartless, why would I have passed up every opportunity to completely crush you?

"Is this your first day knowing me? If I want to ruin someone, do you think I can't? For you, I compromised time and time again. I even humiliated myself by practically stripping in my office just to get you to take me back.

"But you refused. You even ran away in secret. I know for a fact that if going abroad were safe for you, you would have hidden in the most remote corner of the earth just so I could never find you."
