But none of that mattered anymore. She would rather have another man's child than be with him.

He watched her move around the living room for a bit before turning off the screen.

Cynthia called him. "Mathis, Lamont and I are already at the estate. Why aren't you here yet?"

"I'll head over as soon as I finish up here," he replied.

There was an auction going on today, and Mathis had previously spotted a priceless antique Zither in the catalog.

He had Zane attend in person while he bid over the phone.

After several rounds, he won the piece for a staggering sum.

"Have the Zither delivered to the Begonia House," Mathis instructed. "Set up a climate-controlled music room for it, and send me pictures once it's done."

"Understood, Mr. Jagger," Zane replied.

Mathis hung up and headed downstairs to return to the Jagger Estate.

When Harriet saw Cynthia bringing Lamont in, she couldn't hide the disgust on her face.

"Who let this illegitimate child and his tramp of a mother in?" Harriet demanded coldly to the butler. "The Jagger family has no room for strays."

The old lady was furious, completely disregarding her usual refined manners.

Cynthia's face turned completely pale.

"It was sanctioned by the young master," the butler replied respectfully.

Evita walked in with Rosalind Jagger. Lamont had been well-coached by his mother on how to charm people.

In his sweet, childish voice, he called out, "Hello, Grandma! Hello, Auntie! You both look so pretty today!"

Evita's face lit up as she went to pick him up. "Lamont, come here and give Grandma a hug."

"Grandpa, everything I do is calculated," Mathis replied calmly. "I just can't disclose the details publicly right now."

Theodore stared at the future heir of the Jagger family, feeling a chill at how terrifyingly deep his grandson's schemes ran. He could never read what was going on in Mathis's head.

"So, you plan to divorce Bianca?" Theodore asked.

"Yes."

Theodore felt a twinge of regret. "Such a wonderful girl, and you don't even appreciate her."

To Theodore, a wife's background didn't matter; what mattered was the person. Bianca's looks and intellect were top-tier, making her a perfect match for Mathis.

"Grandpa, you can't force fate," Mathis said.

Theodore found his response baffling. "Are you actually letting emotions dictate your marriage? Isn't your entire world built on pure calculation?"
