Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 13 by Ansel Bick
Evita's expression twisted into an ugly sneer. Pointing a trembling finger at Bianca, she spat, "You shameless bitch! You haven't even finalized the divorce and you're already jumping into bed with another man. No wonder you stopped playing the obedient wife—you've found yourself a sugar daddy to back you up. Just you wait!"
Seething with rage, Evita stormed out of the restaurant.
Cillian's eyes darkened as he looked at her. "What exactly is going on with your marriage?"
Bianca sighed. "I signed a contract. I have to keep it a secret, or I'll be hit with massive financial penalties. We're already in the process of getting a divorce."
Cillian was sharp. Recalling Mathis's bizarre behavior that morning, he lowered his voice and asked, "Your husband... is it Mathis Jagger?"
Bianca didn't answer, but it didn't matter. Cillian could easily verify it just by looking into Mathis's family background.
Cillian quickly connected the dots. Appalled, he later followed her into her office and asked, "Isn't Mathis the CEO of a publicly traded company? He's legally required to disclose his marital status!"
"We have a prenuptial agreement," Bianca explained. "I have no claim to his company's assets, so there was no legal obligation to disclose it. Please, just keep this between us."
Cillian nodded in agreement, then asked, "So when you said your husband wouldn't let you work... was that true?"
He had always worried that she had been blinded by love and willingly thrown away her career.
Bianca nodded. "Yes. He preferred me acting as his personal maid."
Cillian's mind reeled. "So that Cynthia woman from today... is she his mistress?"
"His first love," Bianca replied with a placid expression. "And I'm stepping aside so they can be together."
It was too much information for Cillian to process all at once.
Seeing his stunned look, Bianca added, "Now that you know about my ties to Mathis, if my presence here is going to cause problems for your company, I can resign."
Cillian composed himself. "I can protect you for now. You don't need to be afraid of them."
Clearly, he never loved Bianca. Finally, she had the perfect ammunition to exact her revenge on that wretched girl.
Evita asked Cynthia to take Lamont outside. "I need a private word with Mathis."
Mathis looked up. "Cynthia can stay. I have no secrets from her."
Evita rolled her eyes and gestured to her face. "Look at me! I was slapped by that stray dog Bianca has been hooking up with behind your back! And on top of that, she was wishing you were dead!"
Mathis's expression shifted slightly. "Give me the name of the restaurant. I'll have someone pull the security footage."
Evita texted the details to his phone. Mathis glanced at the screen and frowned. It was an exclusive spot—not somewhere just anyone could get a reservation.
He dialed his executive assistant, Quincy. "Pull the security footage from the restaurant I just sent you. I want to see exactly what Bianca was doing there this afternoon."
Quincy acknowledged the order and got straight to work.
