Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 14 by Ansel Bick
Knowing that Bianca and her lover were about to suffer, Evita was absolutely thrilled.
She leaned down, examining Lamont from every angle. The boy truly was the spitting image of Mathis when he was a toddler.
She peppered him with questions. For a two-year-old, he was remarkably sharp, which genuinely surprised her.
She had originally chosen Bianca as a daughter-in-law precisely because of her looks and intellect. It was a shame that after three years, their marriage had entirely imploded.
Evita turned to her son and asked bluntly, "Mathis, why haven't you formally introduced the boy and officially welcomed him into the family?"
Cynthia's heart leaped into her throat.
"I have my own arrangements," Mathis replied coldly.
Evita was completely baffled. "I begged you to have a child with Bianca and you refused. Now you have a son with Cynthia, but you won't divorce Bianca either. What exactly is your game here?"
"Stay out of my business," Mathis warned, his tone frigid.
Cynthia burst into pathetic tears, but Evita made no move to comfort her. Her son truly had awful taste in women—far worse than her own.
The restaurant's security footage quickly popped up on Mathis's monitor. He reviewed the altercation with an impassive face, then turned to Evita. "Do not ever lay a hand on her again."
Evita stared at him, slack-jawed with outrage. "Your mother gets assaulted, and instead of ruining them, you're scolding me? Mathis, are you—"
She wanted to ask if he had lost his mind, but considering he had only recently recovered from brain cancer, she held her tongue.
A layer of frost settled over Mathis's features. "You struck first."
Evita tried to argue, but the sheer coldness in his eyes forced her to turn on her heel and leave.
…
The moment Bianca returned to the office, her first priority was to check the security feeds. Conveniently enough, the footage from that morning—where Cynthia proudly declared herself Mathis's girlfriend—had been mysteriously wiped.
To her absolute annoyance, Mathis arrived with Cynthia on his arm. He was wearing a custom-tailored dress shirt, the diamond cufflinks at his wrists catching the light.
The bastard had an infuriatingly perfect physique—broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and a trim figure perfectly accentuated by his dark trousers.
Cynthia, on the other hand, was dressed as if she were walking the red carpet, decked out in a designer gown and styled immaculately down to the last strand of hair.
At first glance, they looked exactly like a glamorous couple.
Cynthia shamelessly flaunted her outfit. "Mathis bought me this dress, and he even wore a matching tie just for me. He pays attention to every little detail."
He certainly did. In three years, Mathis had never once taken Bianca shopping. The realization was just another twist of the knife.
After delivering her little speech, Cynthia cast a provocative glare at Bianca.
Refusing to even look at them, Bianca maintained a facade of calm. "Then why hasn't he married you yet? Does he not want to, or can he not? And if he can't, is it perhaps because he's already married?"
