Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 142 by Ansel Bick
He only ate the ones Bianca baked.
Bianca spoke calmly, "I can buy a present for you, but I'm very busy. I don't have time to bake a cake."
Internally, she cursed: *Go make Cynthia bake for you. What the hell does your birthday have to do with me?*
"If you don't bake me a cake," Mathis threatened, "I'm coming over to your place tonight and I won't leave."
Bianca frowned. "You can have your woman bake it for you. I don't have time."
"She doesn't know how."
"Can't she learn? Who is born knowing how to bake a cake?" Bianca rolled her eyes.
With that, she hung up the phone.
Mathis didn't call back.
She couldn't care less about his affairs anymore. She called Mona Gibbons, instructing her to head to Apex Plaza, pick up a luxury tie, and have a courier deliver it to the CEO's office at the Dawnstar Capital branch.
She had no energy to arrange anything else.
When Mathis received the tie from Bianca, he felt her attitude was growing increasingly dismissive.
Trying to brush him off with a simple tie.
He called her. "Why is my birthday present just a tie? It's not like you're short on money. Couldn't you put a little effort into it?"
The top-tier luxury tie was only a few hundred dollars; in Mathis's world, it was undeniably shabby.
Cynthia had spent tens of thousands custom-tailoring a suit for him.
Bianca thought to herself: *I used to put my whole heart into you, and what good did it do? Weren't you still running yourself ragged for your own woman?*
Her voice was ice-cold. "If you don't like it, you can throw it away."
"You..."
The call disconnected.
She had no obligation to coddle his feelings. They were separated, after all. All that sweet romance was strictly between him and Cynthia.
Bianca's belly had grown noticeably lately. She had swapped her wardrobe for silk blouses and skirts, giving her a much softer aura.
[Mathis is totally shameless. He brought a whole carload of bodyguards, and I only had two with me.
He had me chased off. What kind of normal person travels with a fleet of muscle? Has he done so many dirty deeds he's afraid someone's going to hack him to pieces?]
Xanthe replied: [Find out who wants him dead so we can send them a thank-you banner.]
Mathis stepped forward and reached out, smoothly pushing down Bianca's phone.
As he drew closer, his signature cedarwood scent washed over her.
The smell was wrapped up in so many memories, but to Bianca, it was a past she never wanted to revisit.
She frowned. "What do you want?"
His voice was remarkably soft. "Keep me company, just for a bit. Please?"
Bianca's eyes widened, staring at him in sheer disbelief. "You? Lacking company? Cyn..."
Mathis cut her off. "I only want you today."
