Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 15 by Ansel Bick
Cynthia paled at the rapid-fire questions, her eyes welling with tears. She turned to Mathis, pouting. "Mathis, do you hear her? She's not giving you an ounce of respect."
Mathis's voice was frigid. "Ms. Baldwin, if you don't know how to speak properly, I suggest you keep your mouth shut."
Bianca shot back, "Then leash your girlfriend and tell her to stay out of my way."
The brief flicker of emotion on Mathis's handsome face vanished, replaced by an icy glare. "I protect Cynthia at all costs. You'd best tread carefully. You know how short my temper can be."
Bianca turned her head, refusing to engage with him any further.
Disgusted on Bianca's behalf, Cillian ushered her to a seat at the far end of the room, putting as much distance as possible between them and the toxic couple.
Mathis's striking face remained as unreadable as a dark abyss. Cynthia tugged at his sleeve, leaning in to whisper intimately in his ear, completely ignoring everyone else in the room. He listened intently before a faint smile curved his lips.
Watching them, Cillian muttered in disgust, "Your husband really has zero standards. He'll go for just about anyone."
Unwilling to dwell on the miserable spectacle, Bianca replied plainly, "Once the papers are finalized, he'll just be my ex-husband. He can sleep with whoever he wants."
She glanced down at her flat stomach, silently whispering: Baby, I'm sorry. It's not that Mommy doesn't want you. It's just that bringing a child into the world without a father is too cruel.
After her own father had passed away, spiteful classmates had constantly mocked her for being fatherless. When she turned eleven, her mother finally remarried Jax's father, Brett Holden. He had adored Bianca, picking her up from school every day rain or shine. But tragically, he had passed away just a year later.
For two more years, Bianca had endured the cruel taunts of being a cursed, fatherless child. It wasn't until she entered university at the age of fourteen that the bullying finally stopped.
The tech professionals in the room were visibly irritated, wondering why the flashy couple had even bothered showing up to an industry event.
Miles Hollister, a highly respected tech guru, leaned over to Cillian and grumbled, "What's wrong with them? Flaunting their relationship here and ruining the whole vibe."
Cynthia immediately trailed behind her.
As Bianca was washing her hands, Cynthia ambushed her. "Did you know this dress cost over a million? Mathis ordered it specifically for me. We just came from the celebration dinner at Progenix Tech. I've officially joined their executive team."
Bianca didn't say a word.
"So what if you're his wife? I gave him a son. He only wants to spend his money on me. You have absolutely nothing."
Bianca dried her hands and said calmly, "Congratulations. You've somehow managed to develop a superiority complex over being a mistress. Mathis is just a piece of trash I threw away. If you enjoy digging through the garbage, be my guest. You two deserve each other."
In her pocket, her phone's voice recorder was running. She desperately needed to gather enough evidence to finalize the divorce.
