Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 150 by Ansel Bick
"I understand. Thank you, Grandpa."
"There is still time ahead of us," Theodore said, trying to offer comfort.
She knew he meant well, but the moment she hung up the phone, her face turned a visibly sickly, ashen gray.
Her face was a canvas of pure, utter heartbreak.
Terrified she might do something drastic, Milo immediately blurted, "I'll figure out a way to lure that bitch overseas and kill her."
"Mathis is guarding her from the shadows," Bianca whispered, her eyes cast downward. "Even Mr. Jagger couldn't touch her."
Speaking those words felt like a knife twisting directly into her heart. Why? Why would Mathis go to such lengths to protect the woman who murdered her child?
It turned out she meant absolutely nothing to him.
She had known it all along, yet in the face of this absolute nightmare, she had still foolishly hoped he possessed a single shred of human conscience.
Hope only led to a far more agonizing disappointment.
The only right thing to do was to expect absolutely nothing from a man like Mathis.
Bianca wanted to slap herself across the face. After everything, she was still harboring expectations for a man entirely devoid of a heart.
A suffocating silence fell over the hospital room.
Xanthe was so furious she practically pinched herself to stay conscious. Mathis had managed to sink even lower than her worst expectations.
Before, she thought he was just a cheating bastard. Now, she realized he had lost his goddamn mind along with his morals.
Knowing full well that Cynthia was a murderer, he not only ignored it, but actively stopped the old patriarch from exacting revenge.
Everyone wore deeply troubled expressions, no one knowing what to say. The heavy silence held until the doctor came in to check on Bianca.
They stepped outside the room, where Xanthe and Milo finally lost all restraint, violently cursing Mathis's name.
Simon, however, was focused on something much worse. "If she keeps bottling this up, Bianca is going to develop severe postpartum depression. She is not okay."
"I'll hire the best therapist money can buy to stay by her side," Milo said frantically. "I won't let her fall into depression."
But Bianca shed no more tears. Tears had never defeated anyone.
The therapist had arrived and tried to coax Bianca into talking about her grief, hoping to help her find some release.
But she had absolutely nothing to say. The therapist felt as though a heavy padlock had been slammed over Bianca's heart.
Despite trying countless methods, Bianca simply refused to reveal a single emotion.
To her, talking about the past was just ripping her chest open all over again.
After three agonizing days with zero progress, the therapist gave up and resigned.
Milo was a total wreck, entirely abandoning his usual playboy lifestyle to visit her every single day.
"Should I have someone bring over some new clothes and jewelry for you to look at?"
"No, thank you, Mr. Wilder. I don't need those things."
"Then what *do* you need?"
