Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 158 by Ansel Bick

"I've already called the police," Mathis assured her. "They're investigating. Don't worry, once they get the security footage, they'll arrest her."

Cynthia felt a surge of vicious triumph. You lose again, Bianca.

I killed your baby, and he did nothing. You hit me, and he's going to make you pay.

Clinging to Mathis's arm, she drifted off into a heavy sleep.

A designated driver took Bianca home. At the gala, several people had toasted her, subtly probing to see if she was Mathis's actual wife.

She had deflected all of them.

"I have absolutely no connection to Mr. Jagger of Dawnstar."

As soon as she walked through the front door, she saw Mathis sitting in her living room.

He had changed into casual clothes—just a simple T-shirt—and his hair was pushed back effortlessly.

The usual icy, unapproachable aura he wore like armor seemed slightly softened.

But his pale, flawless face was visibly clouded with dark fury.

Mabel explained, "He said he has important business with you. He said you assaulted someone and he's here to deal with it."

Though Bianca had fully anticipated that Mathis wouldn't let this go, his immediate arrival still made her chest tighten involuntarily.

He really did love Cynthia. He had certainly never rushed to her defense like this.

Noticing her pale complexion, Mabel asked in concern, "Bianca, are you alright?"

Bianca steadied her nerves, replying, "I'm fine, Grandma. Just go back to your room and get some sleep."

Before leaving, Mabel shot Mathis a warning glare. "Mr. Jagger, even if you don't love our Bianca, you are still husband and wife. Don't you dare make things difficult for her."

"Why should I speak to you properly?"

She guessed that he hadn't been able to recover the deleted footage and had come here just to take his frustration out on her.

Her expression hardened into pure ice. "If you have evidence, send the cops to arrest me. If you don't, crawl back to Cynthia and keep acting like her loyal dog."

His dark eyes locked onto hers. "Do you really think just because you destroyed the footage, I can't touch you? You think if I make a few calls to the husbands of the women who were there, they won't force their wives to testify against you?"

Bianca stiffened. His ruthlessness truly knew no bounds.

Mathis stepped closer, his fingers lightly grazing her cheek. "Bianca, stop trying to provoke me. I don't have that much patience."

She knew he had the power to do exactly what he threatened. The fact that he hadn't done it yet meant he wanted to leverage it for something else.

"What game are you playing this time?"
