Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 19 by Ansel Bick
The technician was deeply moved. "Don't worry! I'll do everything I can to get it working."
Even a total stranger could show her empathy. Yet the man she had faithfully served for three years couldn't care less about her feelings.
Thank goodness she was leaving him.
Once at the office, Bianca opened her notebook and scribbled down her goals: 1. Save up for a two-bedroom condo. 2. Build a retirement fund for Mabel. 3. Spend the holidays at the beach.
These goals fueled her determination. She buried herself in her work until lunch, when Xanthe stormed into her office, raging, "What gave that bastard the right to smash your phone?!"
Bianca shrugged. "I was trying to record proof of his affair, and he completely lost his mind."
Xanthe unlocked her phone and shoved a photo in Bianca's face. It showed Mathis sitting next to Cynthia. In the picture, he looked like a completely different man—every line of his face softened with absolute tenderness.
"Does this count as proof?" Xanthe demanded.
Bianca felt a sharp pang in her chest. "Maybe. Send it to me; I'll forward it to my lawyer."
Xanthe sighed. "Aren't you even going to ask where I got this?"
"His life is none of my business anymore," Bianca replied flatly. "I just want this divorce finalized so I can sever all ties."
Xanthe ignored her and kept going. "Cynthia posted it on her social media. I screenshotted it immediately, but she's already deleted it. Aren't you curious about what she's playing at?"
Massaging her temples, Bianca answered calmly, "She is the precious treasure Mathis fiercely protects. There's nothing I can do about whatever she chooses to do."
Xanthe stormed out, muttering a string of colorful curses.
An hour later, Hector replied: [No explicit physical intimacy. It won't hold up in court.]
When it was time to clock out, her phone rang.
It was Mathis.
Bianca rolled her eyes and ignored it, muttering, "You refuse to sign the papers, so why keep calling me? Go find your precious Cynthia."
As soon as she walked out of the office building, she saw Mathis leaning against his car. He looked at her casually and said in a cool tone, "You assaulted Cynthia. Get in the car and come back to the Estate with me, or I'll have you arrested for battery. Don't count on the security footage. I've already had it wiped."
Bianca didn't doubt him for a second. If he wanted it done, he certainly had the power to do it.
Reluctantly, she opened the passenger door.
Mathis's voice was icy. "Sit in the back with me."
