Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 20 by Ansel Bick
Once inside, Bianca wanted to demand why he was doing this.
However, Mathis was on the phone the entire time, his tone dripping with unprecedented tenderness.
"Just focus on resting. I've already spoken with Mr. Hanson at Progenix Tech; there's no rush for you to go back."
"Alright. I'll take both of you to the beach soon. Tell Lamont that Daddy will always be here for him."
Bianca had never heard him speak so gently. It didn't take a genius to figure out he was talking to Cynthia.
She had probably pushed Cynthia too hard yesterday, rendering her unable to attend the family dinner at the Jagger Estate. So now he was dragging her along merely as a placeholder.
Whatever. She had the evening off anyway. As for the inevitable hostility from the Jagger family, she'd just deal with it as it came.
Mathis stayed on the phone for the entire drive. Meanwhile, Xanthe texted Bianca a photo of Cynthia lying in a hospital bed, captioned: [The homewrecker is in the hospital. Karma is real.]
Bianca couldn't help but smirk, replying: [I put her there.]
Mathis shot her a glance but didn't pause his sweet conversation.
For the first time, Bianca realized that Mathis actually had plenty to say. His stony silence was reserved exclusively for her.
It was fine. They were separating anyway. Why care about a man who didn't love her?
Xanthe replied: [Brilliant! I'm popping a bottle of champagne to celebrate.]
Finally, Mathis hung up. His deep eyes hardened with coldness once again. "Why aren't you using the phone I gave you?"
Bianca shot back, "Why should I? Your money isn't mine to spend."
He sneered, "True. You never lift a finger unless there's something in it for you."
"Right back at you," Bianca retorted.
Mathis's face paled slightly.
Arriving at the Jagger Estate, they walked in single file. Absolutely no one would mistake them for a married couple.
"I've lost my appetite!" Bianca snapped.
Mathis's eyes turned icy. "If you want to spend the night in a jail cell, just say the word."
Furious but cornered, Bianca marched back, found a quiet spot in the corner, and buried her face in her phone. No one in the Jagger family was worth her time.
To vent her frustration, she changed Mathis's contact name in her phone to: Phony Saint.
Still seething, Evita aimed loud, pointed remarks across the room. "Not only is she barren, but she's completely useless. She really just wanted to marry into a rich family and be a pampered housewife."
Rosalind chimed in, "She's so fake all the time. Mathis, what did you even see in her?"
Mathis snapped, "Shut up!"
Bianca ignored them entirely. If a fight broke out now, they had the numbers, and she'd be the one taking the loss.
Sitting quietly on the sidelines, Harriet watched the drama unfold with a gleeful glimmer in her eyes, a cunning plan already forming in her mind.
