Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 191 by Ansel Bick
Bianca Baldwin didn't like making things difficult for working-class people, so she sent Mathis Jagger a text: [I'll take care of our daughter. Stop giving your driver a hard time.]
The driver asked her to call and confirm in person, but Bianca refused. "Your boss is busy, don't bother him. If he has a problem, tell him to take it up with me. I've already let him know."
Bianca left with Aveline. Recalling what had just happened, Jax Holden was still shaken.
"You need to hire a professional security team," Jax said. "Mathis is dragging his feet on the divorce, and now that the kid is in the picture, that woman is going to get even more desperate."
Bianca was about to reply when Aveline woke up in her arms.
The little girl loved her mother's embrace, snuggling deeper into her chest.
Bianca looked down and kissed Aveline's cheek, causing the toddler to giggle happily.
Aveline sat up, and Bianca pointed at the driver's seat. "Look, that's Uncle Jax."
Jax let out a soft sigh. Even though she was getting a divorce, Bianca still showed no romantic interest in him.
She would always just see him as family.
Aveline obediently called out, "Uncle Jax!"
Though a bit awkward, Jax accepted it with a smile. "I'll have to buy you a nice present later, Aveline."
"Drop me off at Stellaride Computing first," Bianca said. "The Developer Conference is in a few days. Stellaride is hosting it this year, so I need to go over some details."
"Sure." Jax glanced at her in the rearview mirror. Aside from being worryingly thin, she seemed fine.
Concerned, he asked, "Once the divorce is finalized, are you staying in Kingsbridge City or moving away?"
Bianca gazed at the familiar city streets she hadn't seen in so long. "I'll stay. I was born and raised here, after all. Plus, I want to be able to visit Mabel and my mom's graves. But mostly, I don't want to be too far from Aveline.
Mathis didn't give me custody, so my chances to see her are rare. Even if it's just a few times a month, it's better than not seeing her for years."
As she spoke, she held Aveline a little tighter.
