Bianca completely brushed off his accusation; his words meant absolutely nothing to her.

"If you give me full custody, I'll hire a professional nanny," she said evenly.

"After all, I don't have another man or an illegitimate child to cater to. Outside of work, every single second of my time would go to Aveline."

Mathis didn't take the bait. He simply said, "Next time you're busy, just call the nanny from the house to come help."

A tiny spark of joy flared in Bianca's chest. That meant there would be a next time.

Mathis scooped Aveline up, ready to leave.

Aveline had clearly had a blast with Xanthe and blew her a kiss on the way out.

"Love you, Xanthe."

Xanthe's heart melted completely. "I love you too, sweetie. Next time, I'll take you out somewhere fun."

"Okay," Aveline said, turning to wave at her mother. "Bye-bye, Mommy."

A pang of reluctance hit Bianca. "Bye-bye, baby!"

Mathis didn't miss the deep longing in her eyes. He fully intended to use her attachment to Aveline to his advantage.

Before he could step through the doors, Milo Wilder strolled in, holding a massive bouquet of vibrant red roses and an elegant designer shopping bag.

Mathis's face darkened instantly.

Normally, Milo favored a laid-back, rich-boy aesthetic in Austin City—often spotted driving supercars in vintage tees and slides.

But today, he had specifically dressed up to see Bianca.

With his naturally striking features, perfectly styled hair, and tailored clothes, he looked undeniably handsome.

Xanthe purposely teased him. "Mr. Wilder, are you here to propose?"

Mathis's expression turned murderous. He shot a glaring look at Bianca and snapped, "Our divorce papers haven't even been finalized yet."

Bianca ignored him. Not everyone was as unhinged as he was.
