Cynthia's brows knitted together in fury, looking like she was about to launch herself at Bianca.

Suddenly, Dr. Sagan's impatient voice rang out from inside the office. "Are you here for an appointment or not?"

Looking deeply embarrassed, Cynthia quickly hurried inside. Mathis was still sitting motionless on the bench out in the hall. Seizing the moment, Milo reached out and intertwined his fingers with Bianca's. This time, she didn't pull away.

Mathis glanced up, his expression completely unreadable.

As soon as the elevator doors closed, Bianca slipped her hand out of Milo's.

"Don't do that again. I don't need to use you to make him jealous. He doesn't care anyway."

Milo gave a small nod and asked, "What's your next move?"

"I'll have Hector Goodwin file a civil lawsuit. I'm not letting that woman off the hook," she replied firmly.

She didn't plan on letting Mathis off either, but he held Aveline's custody over her head, and given that Aveline was an American citizen, it complicated things significantly.

She had to secure custody first before plotting her next strike.

Milo walked her back to the office. "Remember what Dr. Sagan said—nothing matters more than your health. Your family is watching over you from heaven, and they wouldn't want to see you miserable.

"As for Mathis and that woman, just bide your time. Your influence is growing at a terrifying rate. Who knows? Maybe Mathis will take a massive financial hit down the line and end up begging you for a partnership. The capital markets are unpredictable. No one stays on top forever."

Bianca couldn't help but laugh. "You're surprisingly good at comforting people, Milo."

"I'm just speaking the truth," he said, looking at her earnestly. "The older folks in my family always say that no flower blooms forever. People shouldn't do terrible things. A man like Mathis, who mistreats his wife, is destined for a bad end. I curse him for you every single day. Trust me, his luck will run out."

Bianca rolled her eyes slightly. "You're quite the believer in karma and superstition. If that stuff actually worked, why would anyone bother working hard?"
