Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 216 by Ansel Bick
Xanthe finally confirmed that Bianca didn't possess a single romantic bone in her body. No wonder Milo was struggling so hard to win her over without making a dent.
She couldn't fathom what had drawn Bianca to Mathis in the first place.
Bianca chalked it up to being young, foolish, and blinded by a pretty face before realizing his insides were completely rotten.
Xanthe cut right to the chase. "Why don't you introduce me to Hector Goodwin?"
Bianca looked at her in surprise. "You want to date a divorce lawyer? Aren't you worried he'll leave you with nothing but half a pair of socks if you ever split up?"
Xanthe pouted. "Can't you hope for the best for me? What if it's true love and we grow old together? Just introduce us, and I'll handle the rest."
*Grow old together?* The words made Bianca pause. She had believed the exact same thing when she married Mathis, only to end up with a spectacularly shattered life.
If it weren't for Aveline, she would have loved to stab him just one more time.
Marriage was arguably the most unreliable institution on earth.
Snapping back to reality, she said, "I'm meeting him on Monday to discuss Cynthia's case. I'll bring you along."
"You're the best!" Xanthe beamed. "I'll start looking at houses when I have time."
"Sure, pick whatever you like. I've got the money."
Xanthe wouldn't actually pick a ridiculous mansion—she couldn't afford the exorbitant HOA or heating fees anyway. She just wanted a place with a decent commute where she could eventually take care of her parents.
Bianca returned to her work. She announced to the entire R&D team, "I'm a mom, so I'll be avoiding overtime. If I can't finish something here, I'll take it home. I promise it won't impact anyone's bonuses."
The team exchanged stunned looks. They had assumed she was intimidatingly elite, but she was surprisingly down-to-earth.
She didn't act superior at all. No wonder Mr. Calder had kept the R&D Director position open for her for over a year.
