Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 236 by Ansel Bick
"During their three years of marriage, Mathis controlled her every move. She had a miserable time," Corbin said. "Back then, Bianca loved him so much she was willing to give up her entire career for him.
"But in a relationship, one person is willing to hit, and the other is willing to take the blow. As outsiders, we can never really know the full story."
Mathis's severe illness was a secret only the Jagger elders and Mathis's parents knew about; the other Jagger branches were completely in the dark.
Ingrid felt a wave of profound sorrow. "A wife who gave him her absolute everything still couldn't compete with the woman he had on the side." She let out a bitter laugh and downed a glass of chilled wine.
Tonight, the wine tasted exceptionally bitter, perhaps because it was mixed with her tears.
In front of Corbin, Ingrid made absolutely no effort to hide her lingering feelings for Mathis.
Corbin took a slow sip of his own drink. "It's a shame Mathis made such an incredibly stupid decision. When a man abandons his devoted wife, it's usually the first sign that his empire is about to crumble."
After he finished speaking, he stared blankly out the window. Beyond the glass was the garden.
The hibiscus flowers were in full, vibrant bloom, blazing like fire. But even at the absolute peak of his success, Mathis might not be the one laughing in the end.
In their private six-person group chat, Xanthe Webber was already on a rampage.
*Xanthe: That mutt Mathis kept saying you guys weren't officially divorced because the decree hasn't come down yet! So how the hell is he out here proposing to someone else? He has absolutely zero shame. He's harassing you while getting engaged to that tart. Bianca, you should just post your marriage certificate! Who cares about the Jagger family's stupid NDA? You have the money to pay the penalty now!*
Bianca quickly replied: *Don't stir up unnecessary drama. It's better if those two are locked together forever anyway. My worry is that once the initial ruling comes down, Mathis will appeal, and the second trial could drag on for another three months. Even though our divorce is practically set in stone, if he wants to be disgusting about it, there's nothing I can do.*
Xanthe was absolutely livid, spamming angry and cursing emojis.
*Xanthe: So you're just going to let them aggressively flaunt their fake romance all over the internet?*
