Cynthia was left completely speechless. She didn't understand a single thing about the tech; she was practically just a corporate mascot.

Most of the business operations were handled by the VP Mathis had assigned to her, let alone the complex technical side of things.

Bianca sneered. "Is it fun pretending to know things you don't? You two can leave. I'm very busy and don't have the free time to entertain your nonsense."

Without waiting for Mathis to say another word, she simply grabbed her laptop and walked out.

Cillian didn't stick around either, offering a brief farewell before taking his leave.

Cynthia stomped her foot in frustration, looking up at Mathis with tear-filled eyes. "Mathis, she just doesn't want me to have a good life. Without Stellaride's licensing, what are we going to do?"

Mathis comforted her softly, "Don't be afraid. I'll take care of everything."

Xanthe Webber happened to be walking past them. She rolled her eyes dramatically and muttered to a coworker beside her, "You all should take notes on the 'cling and cry' tactic. It guarantees a man will be dead set on you."

The coworker was confused. "Ms. Webber, don't you always say women shouldn't rely on men?"

Pinching her voice to mimic Cynthia's breathy tone, Xanthe replied, "Well, if you meet a blind man, you absolutely have to latch onto his thigh. If a man is willing to hand his life over to you, you won't have to lift a finger."

The coworker was baffled by Xanthe's bizarre performance.

Faced with Xanthe's passive-aggressive mocking, Cynthia just continued to play the victim. She didn't dare snap back while in Mathis's presence.

Once they were in the car, Mathis looked entirely guilt-stricken. "Cynthia, I dragged you into this. But don't worry, I will make Stellaride drop their prejudice against Aeterna."

"What are you planning to do?" Cynthia asked nervously.
