The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Chapter 246

Cynthia had immediately contacted Mathis, desperately hoping he would step in and smooth things over, but Mathis had flatly refused.

"If I pay this money, Grandpa will definitely tell Bianca. If she refuses to settle, you'll be in massive trouble. You are the CEO of a publicly listed company now; your image cannot afford to take a hit. Be good. You had your salary and dividends last year, so you can easily afford this fifty million."

Left with no other options, Cynthia was forced to transfer the funds directly from her personal account.

The legal team had made it brutally clear: if the matter wasn't resolved by the morning, they would publicly blow the situation out of proportion by the afternoon.

Cynthia had to swallow the loss, though she cursed viciously in her heart. *Bianca, you bitch. I'll treat this fifty million as the price of your life. Enjoy the money while you can, because you won't be alive to spend it.*

Bianca smiled as she read the message. "Thank you, Mr. Goodwin. Great work!"

Hector replied smoothly, "It's much faster than dragging this through court. There's no need to be polite. You're Jax's sister, which makes you my sister as well."

Making Cynthia bleed cash put Bianca in an excellent mood. She had Tessa order premium coffee and pastries for the entire tech department.

When the team asked Tessa what the special occasion was, she couldn't give them an answer.

Even Xanthe Webber from HR caught wind of the treat. She texted Bianca, asking why she was suddenly playing Santa Claus.

Bianca briefly explained how Hector had successfully extracted a massive sum from Cynthia. Xanthe laughed so hard she dropped her phone on her desk before picking it back up to reply.

"You finally scored a massive win against that tart! I just don't know if your idiot ex-husband ended up footing the bill."

Bianca brushed it off. "Who cares? As long as someone paid the price, I'm happy."

"True enough."

...

Meanwhile, in the executive office of Dawnstar Capital, Mathis was eating the takeout Quincy had ordered for him.
