Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 252 by Ansel Bick

Mathis stuck to his usual line. "It's not the right time yet, I can't say. Grandfather, you just have to trust me, just like you didn't object when I joined the board back then. Trust me one more time. I've never let you down."

Theodore had no other choice now but to take his word for it.

"Bianca is definitely done with you," Theodore warned him. "But even if she doesn't want you, don't you dare bring that Quinn woman into this family."

Mathis looked at his grandfather. "Do you know something I don't?"

Theodore went on to describe the utter despair and devastation Bianca had displayed right before she left. Hearing this, the old wounds in Mathis's heart twisted like a knife had been driven through them.

She had been so close to giving up on her life entirely. If she had, he would have lost the love of his life forever.

"If I hadn't stepped in to talk her down, you probably wouldn't even be able to see her right now," Theodore said grimly. "No matter what you do in the future, you cannot hurt her again. She's all alone in this world. She stayed by your side through your darkest days. Yet, once you recovered, you stabbed her in the heart time and time again. Mathis, a man cannot act like that."

Fighting back his tears, Mathis said, "Grandfather, I was careless this time and dragged Bianca into it. It won't happen again."

Theodore waved his hand dismissively. "Go on, then. Watch your step."

Once back in his car, it took a long time for Mathis to calm down. Sitting alone in the backseat, tears streamed down his face.

"I'm sorry, Bianca. I was wrong. I was so terribly wrong."

His phone rang at the worst possible moment. Mathis glanced at the screen and saw it was Cynthia. He wiped his tears away and took a moment to compose himself.

Answering the call, he kept his voice steady. "Cynthia, do you need something?"

Cynthia's overly sweet voice came through the line. "Can't I call you just because? I missed you. You haven't been spending any time with me."
