Summary for Chapter 257: The Transactional Marriage That Imploded

Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 257 by Ansel Bick

Bianca was still hesitant to trust Corbin. "I just met you yesterday, and you immediately schemed against me. I don't dare do business with someone like you. I'm hanging up."

Mathis was a wolf, and Corbin was a leopard. Bianca wasn't foolish enough to bargain with a predator.

"Don't hang up," Corbin quickly interjected. "I am genuinely sincere about working with you. How about this? We'll sign a formal agreement. I'll put up 1% of my shares in Dawnstar Capital as collateral. If I double-cross you, the shares are yours."

Dawnstar Capital's market value was astronomical. That 1% was a massive fortune.

It was highly unlikely Corbin would hand over such a lucrative asset for nothing, giving his words a sudden weight of credibility.

Bianca considered it for a moment. "Fine. Draft the contract and the strategy and send them over. Don't try to hide any traps in the paperwork; I'll be having a professional lawyer review it."

Corbin agreed.

Around half-past eleven, Mathis texted her.

[I'm near your office right now. Let's grab lunch together.]

Bianca replied: [No need. As far as the outside world is concerned, we're strangers. If your fiancée sees us eating together, I'll just end up getting cyberbullied again.]

Her appetite was already poor; eating with Mathis would only make her lose it entirely.

Mathis knew she was still holding a grudge against him for not taking her side. [Then I'll have someone deliver lunch to you.]

[Not necessary. Jax is having someone send food. If you have this much free time, go find your fiancée. We have nothing to do with each other. I'd be worried you'd poison my food anyway.]

Mathis set his phone down and rubbed his temples, desperately wishing this whole ordeal would end sooner rather than later.

At noon, Jax's people delivered lunch to Bianca.
