Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 258 by Ansel Bick
Bianca was utterly speechless. "Why would he do that?"
Xanthe grinned wickedly. "He's showing off and trying to piss off your ex. When Mathis called you, he must have been half-dead from rage. Milo played that perfectly."
Bianca was particularly sensitive to the phrase 'the woman I love'. "I don't want him wasting his time on me."
Knowing that Bianca wasn't in a good headspace, Xanthe didn't push the issue any further. Once they finished eating, she headed back up to her own floor.
The rest of the workday flew by in a blur of busyness. As soon as she clocked out, Milo appeared carrying a massive bouquet of peonies. The petals faded from a soft, delicate pink at the center to a pure white at the edges, looking as soft as feathers.
The large blossoms looked incredibly elegant.
Bianca loved flowers; as long as they weren't roses, she was happy.
What she didn't know was that Milo had specifically looked it up; peonies symbolized a unique and devoted love.
Accepting them with a bright smile, she placed them on her desk. Her voice was noticeably lighter as she said, "Thanks for always bringing me flowers, Milo."
Milo smiled warmly. "As long as you like them. I just want to see you happy. You look absolutely stunning when you smile."
Bianca quickly shut it down. "Don't say ambiguous things like that. We're strictly friends. I have absolutely no intention of dating anyone. And don't post things like that on your socials anymore. I'm not worth you waiting around for."
Milo lowered his eyes and agreed. He couldn't help but wonder if she had been this ruthlessly unyielding when she was with Mathis.
Probably not. That was the man she had actually loved, after all.
"Got it," Milo replied smoothly.
As Milo's car pulled out of the parking garage, Mathis was sitting in his own car parked right outside the Stellaride building, watching them.
For Milo to show up at this exact hour, he was definitely there to pick Bianca up.
Their relationship was visibly growing closer by the day. They were probably already officially dating.
