Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 275 by Ansel Bick
Milo blinked his intensely magnetic eyes and stared straight into hers. "I want to know how you fall in love."
Bianca let out a heavy sigh. "I took one look at him and fell in love. One glance across a sea of people, and I locked onto my own karma."
"Karma?" Milo had mixed feelings about that description. He shot her an uneasy look.
She paused. "Actually, it wasn't really love. It was just superficial attraction.
I didn't know him at all. After we got married, I tried to get to know him, but he never let me get close.
We lived completely separate, icy lives for three years. We only actually became a real couple after he recovered from his illness, and it was brief. Just one month.
Then my mom passed away. He refused to attend her funeral, and that's when Cynthia announced they were having a baby.
On the very day we buried my mother, he threw a massive birthday bash for Cynthia. He had drones light up the entire sky above Dawnstar Capital.
That was when my heart finally died. I made up my mind to leave him, but walking away left me bruised and bleeding. It even cost my grandmother her life.
The man I set my sights on when I was twenty ended up treating me like that. It truly was my karma for being so shallow."
As she spoke, tears began to fall. The trauma of her marriage had been locked deep in her memories, but digging it all up still made her heart ache.
Her emotions infected Milo. He realized just how impossibly hard her journey had been.
He reached out and pulled her into his arms. Instead of pushing him away like she usually did, she buried her face in his shoulder and cried for the entire drive.
He gently patted her back, letting her vent everything out. He knew she would feel much better once she let the tears flow.
He had never seen her like this. She was usually incredibly rational. Seeing her curled up against his chest, trembling all over, proved just how deeply Mathis's betrayal had cut her.
Milo started to realize that he might never actually have a future with her. She had loved another man with absolute, terrifying devotion.
Even though she didn't love him anymore, the soul-crushing agony was still there.
That pain would probably haunt her for the rest of her life.
He sighed inwardly, wondering if he should just let her go.
But he couldn't bear to lose her. He had been waiting for her divorce for so long.
He had been waiting for almost two whole years.
He had always lived life on his own terms. He never forced himself into miserable situations, especially not when it came to romance.
He would wait for her. He would wait until the day his own heart finally gave up.
He comforted her softly. "It wasn't your fault. Stop blaming yourself.
Mathis is a monster. Even if it was an arranged marriage on paper, he had no right to cheat on you while keeping you trapped like that."
Bianca understood the logic, but subconsciously, she always blamed herself. As she cried, she completely broke down.
