Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 281 by Ansel Bick

Bianca's face returned to its usual cold arrogance, tinged with a hint of disdain. She absolutely despised Mathis's indecisiveness.

'How am I doing?' Bianca mocked. 'I simply rejected an invitation from a two-timing man. Mathis, whenever Cynthia has a problem, you're the first one on the front lines.

But when I'm in trouble, you pull a disappearing act.

It doesn't matter; I've gotten used to your neglect.

Besides, we're about to become strangers again, so let's just pretend we never met.

Since you don't care about me, stop bothering me.

You drove me into severe depression. I went to an exhibition with a friend, trying to crawl out of this dark abyss bit by bit.

I won't let you drag me back down. I owe you nothing.'

Mathis noticed her trembling hands. He had asked a psychologist about it before; severe depression had somatic symptoms.

Bianca's sleep disturbances and severe loss of appetite were among them, and those were the ones he could see.

What he couldn't see were the headaches, backaches, stomachaches, and other chronic pains that constantly plagued her.

She could only rely on medication to keep herself going, and she was living a very difficult life.

It wasn't that his heart didn't ache for her; every time he wanted her to meet him halfway, she outright refused.

Mathis said, 'Bianca, if you just compromise with me, I will protect you to the very end.'

Bianca acted as if she had heard the biggest joke in the world and sneered, 'What if I have a conflict with Cynthia? Will you protect me then?

Save that nonsense, Mathis. We're already divorced, and we need to draw a clear line.

Give Aveline back to me, and I'll be grateful. If you insist on keeping my child away, I can't guarantee I won't do something extreme.'

She didn't care about her own ruined life anymore; taking down two enemies with her would be the best outcome.

An icy glint flashed in her eyes, and Mathis's heart sank heavily.

He asked with a freezing tone, 'Are you moving on to deal with me now that you successfully dealt with Cynthia yesterday?'

That had been Bianca's original plan, but unfortunately, Mathis had ruined it.

He was infinitely harder to deal with than Cynthia. Since she hadn't figured out how to handle him yet, she had to play along.

Since he was already suspicious, she needed to keep up appearances, or she'd never get the chance to strike.

She softened her voice. 'How could I? You're Aveline's father. I don't want her to lose her dad; she loves you very much.'

Mathis's expression finally eased. Although he didn't entirely believe her, as long as she was willing to lower her guard and coax him a little, his irritation instantly smoothed over.

He continued, 'I'll help you hire a top-tier psychologist. You'll keep getting treatment and cure your depression. I want you to be happy! Even though you won't smile at me anymore, I miss seeing you smile.'

Bianca felt he was like a fox guarding the henhouse—he had ulterior motives.

Who knew what personal agenda he'd slip into her treatment?
