Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 280 by Ansel Bick

Did she really think Mathis could protect her forever?

After lunch, Milo forwarded the photos the photographer had taken to Bianca. She picked out a few where her smile was the brightest and uploaded them to her social media.

The caption read: *Checked out a friend's art exhibition today. All three zones were amazing, and I feel incredible. It's nice to have good company.*

Everyone who knew her immediately started liking the post. Maxine chuckled happily, "Bianca, these pictures are gorgeous. That boy really treats you well."

Bianca had always noted every single thing Milo had done for her. It would be a lie to say she wasn't deeply grateful.

"Yes," she replied softly. "He's very good to me."

Maxine linked her arm through Bianca's and gently patted her hand. "It's fine if a woman runs into a piece of garbage when she's young. Once the divorce is finalized, you're still in your twenties. You have your whole life ahead of you to start over."

"Don't give me any of that nonsense about swearing off marriage forever. Couples who start young become companions in old age. Especially with your icy personality, if you don't have someone by your side, I genuinely worry you're going to turn into a sociopath."

Over the last couple of days, Bianca's rigid mindset had truly started to shift. The ice around her heart was beginning to thaw.

She rubbed her nose awkwardly. "Alright. I'll slowly try to work on myself. I'll try to let him in."

Fully satisfied, Maxine got into her car, reminding Bianca to come over for dinner whenever she was free. She noted that Walter's eyes only ever lit up like that when they were geeking out over tech.

Bianca promised she would.

Bianca and Milo saw the four elders off. On her ride home, Maxine didn't stop singing Milo's praises.

Walter, on the other hand, still vehemently disliked the guy. More accurately, he was experiencing textbook overprotective-father syndrome.

He was absolutely going to hate anyone who tried to steal his favorite student.

Mathis had also seen Bianca's post.

The second he had a free moment, he would just sit and stare blankly at her profile picture. He desperately wanted to video call her, just to see her face.

But since he didn't have Aveline physically with him at the moment, she rejected his calls every single time.

Even though Milo wasn't explicitly visible in the photos, it was excruciatingly obvious that he was the reason she was smiling like that.

Her heart wasn't with him anymore. The only time she ever showed that brilliantly sweet smile was when she was with another man.

With him, all she ever did was scream at him or glare with pure, unadulterated hatred.

At the thought, Mathis felt an agonizing, hollow ache in his chest, as if a chunk of his heart had been violently carved out.

"Bianca, why do you treat me like this?" he muttered to himself.

He absolutely refused to let her go. Once he finished handling his current mess, if she still wouldn't forgive him, he would use every dirty trick in the book to ensure she could never be with Milo.

When Bianca arrived home, Mathis was standing outside her door once again.

He wasn't wearing the same wrinkled clothes from that morning. He had changed into a caramel satin button-down paired with crisp white trousers, and his hair was perfectly styled.

The sharp look perfectly accentuated his strikingly handsome features, making him look exceptionally aristocratic.
