'You shouldn't blame yourself for his blatant favoritism. It has nothing to do with you.

He's the one out of his mind. All you need to do is focus on loving Aveline.'

Simon had known Mathis for years. He used to sneer at his own father's romantic escapades, but when it came to his own life, he was doing the exact same thing.

It left people inexplicably speechless.

Bianca understood the logic, but her depression made her thoughts constantly spiral negatively.

Seeing her stay silent, Simon continued to reassure her until she finally felt a little better.

During dinner, Simon thoughtfully had the manager buy a special cake for her in advance.

Eating dessert always lifted her spirits. She smiled, thanked him, and ate a lot of her favorite foods.

Tom Yum Seafood Pot, Curry Shrimp, Thai Grilled Chicken, Grilled Lamb Chops, Mango Sticky Rice, Green Papaya Salad.

Every dish featured fresh ingredients and was meticulously prepared by the chef. She truly felt his thoughtfulness.

'Thank you.'

'Don't mention it. We're friends.'

In the middle of the meal, Mathis called Simon, who stepped outside to answer.

'Are you with Bianca?' Mathis asked.

Simon didn't hide it. 'Yeah, we're having dinner at my mom's restaurant. She's not doing well. Dr. Mills said she shouldn't be left alone. She constantly feels that you don't love your daughter and blames herself for it.

If you really want her to get better, cut the messy ties with Cynthia. Cynthia keeps showing off on social media, making everyone think you two are incredibly close. How could Bianca not be hurting when she sees that?

You used to say you hated your dad for fooling around, so why are you...'

Mathis cut him off before he could finish. 'She'd rather have you accompany her for dinner than talk to me. She smiles at the whole world, except me.'

Mathis thought to himself that at least Aveline was coming back tomorrow. He could use their daughter as an excuse to see her. At the very least, she rarely mocked him in front of the baby.

Simon's good breeding was the only thing keeping him from cursing him out. He thought to himself, 'Your wife ignores you, and you don't know why? With all the crap you've pulled, no sane person would talk to you.'

Mathis continued, 'Keep her company for dinner, and remember to take her home. Keep your distance. Even if you like her, do not confess your feelings, or we're done being brothers.'

With that, he hung up.

Simon thought, 'If you keep seeing Cynthia, I don't want to be your brother anyway.'

Aveline arrived at ten o'clock the next morning. Bianca went to the airport early with toys to pick her up.

Mathis showed up as well, holding a box of Aveline's favorite sliced fruit and a massive bouquet of Juliet Roses.

Seeing him made Bianca zone out for a second.
