Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 290 by Ansel Bick
As a wealthy woman who had always been spoiled, Evita wasn't used to swallowing her pride. But because her foolish son had handed her precious granddaughter over to Bianca, she had no choice but to swallow her anger and apologize.
Bianca didn't accept the request immediately, intending to leave Evita hanging until the evening.
On the other end of the phone, Evita was furious and anxious, yet completely helpless.
Bianca remembered how ruthlessly Evita used to bully her. Was it just because she thought Bianca was helpless, relying entirely on the Jagger family's hospital to keep her mother alive?
Did she think she could be easily controlled?
Well, since she had the leverage now, she was going to raise her own status.
There was no need to be polite to the Jagger family. Being too polite only invited them to walk all over her.
Unable to get her contact request accepted, Evita frustratedly complained to Mathis, accusing Bianca of disrespecting her elders.
Mathis promised to mention it to her later. Inwardly, he felt a deep sense of sorrow; if she wasn't even willing to forgive his family, he was in grave danger himself.
Aveline slept until almost five o'clock. When she finally woke up, she gave her mother a sweet smile.
Her soft, fragrant little body wiggled into Bianca's arms as she cooed, 'Mommy, I love you so much.'
Bianca asked tenderly, 'Ready to get up?'
'Mm-hmm,' the toddler hummed. 'Where's Daddy?'
Bianca wasn't sure if Mathis had left yet, figuring he probably couldn't stand being in the same room as Milo.
'Let's go outside and see if Daddy is still here,' she said.
'Okay.'
When she carried the toddler out, she saw both men still buried in their laptops.
The living room felt like a battlefield thick with tension. It was a miracle these two had managed to coexist peacefully for hours without starting a fight.
It seemed Aveline held a lot of sway.
Milo looked up from his screen first and smiled at her. 'Do you need help cooking tonight?'
'Do you even know how to cook, rich boy?' she teased.
He scratched the back of his head sheepishly. 'Well, no, but I can help you wash the vegetables.'
Since Mathis hadn't called Wilma over, Bianca asked Milo to play with the baby instead. She couldn't bear the thought of making the pampered young master inhale kitchen grease anyway.
Milo wasn't as deranged as Mathis. He didn't believe women needed to be perfectly domesticated; he just wanted her to be herself.
Mathis's face darkened. He declared that his daughter didn't need some irrelevant man to watch her, and he would do it himself.
