Summary for Chapter 291: The Transactional Marriage That Imploded

Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 291 by Ansel Bick

Bianca was merciless. "If you're just here to check up on me, delete my contact info. I'm divorced from your son, and we have absolutely nothing to do with each other."

Evita knew Bianca's attitude was worse than before. She inhaled sharply.

Suppressing the anger in her chest, she spoke amiably to Bianca, "Okay, okay, I won't bother you. Can I just see Aveline?"

Bianca handed the phone directly to Mathis. "Your mom wants to video chat with our daughter. You two talk. And don't go snooping through my phone."

Mathis was slightly displeased by her lack of trust, but with his mother present, it wasn't the right time to argue. He took the phone and started the video call with Aveline.

Aveline was thrilled to see her grandmother, calling out sweetly, "Grandma!"

Evita's usual bitterness vanished entirely, instantly replaced by a loving, grandmotherly warmth. She asked Aveline when she would come over to play and promised to pick her up.

The grandmother and granddaughter happily chatted away.

Bianca didn't like Evita, but she wouldn't stop her daughter from having normal family bonds. If anything unexpected were to happen to her, she wanted Aveline to have as many people as possible who loved and cared for her.

Unlike herself, who had no family left to dote on her.

Bianca returned to the kitchen to help Milo dish out the food and rice.

Milo picked up two plates of food, continuing their earlier conversation. "If we get together in the future, I won't let you work this hard. It's not like we can't afford a nanny. There's no reason to make you cook."

Bianca knew Milo was completely different from Mathis. He didn't want to treat her like a servant; he only wanted to bring her happiness and joy.

Bianca smiled. "Thanks for being so considerate, Milo."

Milo gave a proud smile. "You'll discover even more of my good qualities later, Bianca. I'm a seriously great guy."

Bianca chuckled softly. Yes, yes, I get it, you're the best man in the world. Are you happy now?

Milo's vanity was immensely satisfied. Was there anything in this world more delightful than being praised by the woman he loved?

By now, Aveline had finished her video call with Evita. The moderate volume of the kitchen conversation had drifted entirely into Mathis's ears.

He felt as if he couldn't breathe. The memories he shared with Bianca had left her with nothing but pain and resentment.

But back then, when his illness was uncertain, all he wanted was to keep her by his side for as many days as he could, so he trapped her in his orbit.

He hadn't expected that delay to stretch into three long years.

It had become a dead knot in Bianca's heart.

Of the four people in the room, Mathis was the most miserable. He hated Milo for constantly getting in the way, but since Bianca wasn't kicking the other man out, there was nothing he could do.

Aveline was the happiest of them all. She was a baby who loved to eat and sleep, and her eyes sparkled the moment she saw the table full of her mother's cooking.

"Meat!"

Bianca went to the sideboard, grabbed some silverware, and cut the ribs into small pieces for Aveline's little bowl. Just as she was about to feed her, Aveline grabbed the food with her little hands and started eating.

Her tiny cheeks were stuffed full, making her look exactly like a cute little piglet.
