Summary for Chapter 298: The Transactional Marriage That Imploded

Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 298 by Ansel Bick

Sitting next to her was a woman who had publicly stripped her husband's mistress in the street. The woman sat aside crying; her husband refused to pay bail to get her out.

She loudly cursed the injustice of the world—why was destroying a marriage not a crime, but defending one meant facing the law?

Bianca was surprisingly calm. She didn't even want to think about how long her sentence might be.

She listened quietly to the woman's rant. When the woman finally cried herself out, she asked Bianca why she was locked up.

Bianca calmly explained that she had put her ex-husband's mistress's grandmother and mother in the hospital, and that her ex-husband was the one who called the cops.

The woman was stunned. She slapped her thigh and told Bianca she was foolish—why beat up irrelevant people? If you're going to fight, fight the mistress.

Bianca replied that she had already cracked the mistress's head open before. Recently, she had even managed to get the mistress arrested, but her ex-husband used the custody of their daughter to trade for the mistress's freedom.

The woman was absolutely floored. She had thought her own husband was a piece of trash, but this beautiful girl's situation was far more tragic.

Bianca told the woman not to cry, pointing out that her husband was at least better than her ex. He had cheated, but he wasn't actively trying to ruin her life.

Her ex-husband was entirely different. He spent every waking moment trying to destroy her and drive her to an early grave.

The woman was at a loss for words, having no idea how to comfort Bianca.

Bianca, acting as if it were no big deal, said, "When my friends come to see me in a bit, I'll have them pay your bail so you can get out."

The woman threw her arms around Bianca, crying out that she was an angel. She even suggested that once she got out, she would go find Cynthia and rip her clothes off in the middle of the street.

She wanted to ruin Cynthia's life—all Bianca had to do was get her bailed out.

Bianca shook her head. "Don't bother. My ex guards her like she's his own eyes. Don't drag yourself down. Just go home and live your life. A man cheating isn't the end of the world."

The woman was in awe of Bianca's composure, not realizing that Bianca was simply numb.

A while later, a police officer came to release Bianca. After she signed some paperwork, they told her she was free to go.

Hector, Cillian, and Milo were all waiting to pick her up.

Milo couldn't wait and immediately stepped forward to hug the dazed Bianca. Bianca felt completely drained and didn't push him away.

Instead, his embrace felt surprisingly warm.

Confused, Bianca asked, "How am I okay?"

Milo let her go and explained, "You're being charged with excessive self-defense. Mr. Goodwin used your medical records to get you out—you have severe clinical depression, and they provoked you first.

"You have to go to the hospital tomorrow for a psychiatric evaluation. The injury reports for those two old women haven't been released yet. They're at the Jagger hospital, and I'm worried they might try to rig the results.

"I've already reached out to my contacts to get it moved to a different hospital. They told me they found a backup facility, and both sides will do the evaluation together."

Bianca thanked him, then asked Hector to pay the bail for the woman she had met inside.
