Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 299 by Ansel Bick
Before Mathis could speak, Cynthia's delicate voice rang out. "Mathis, carry me down."
It gave Bianca goosebumps. Mathis had told her to act sweet with him—turns out it was a disgusting habit Cynthia had accustomed him to.
His taste was genuinely awful if he couldn't see through Cynthia's abysmal acting.
Milo held Bianca's hand tightly. He knew that this time, Mathis had absolutely no excuse to oppose him being with Bianca.
After all, his precious little sweetheart was right beside him.
The two exchanged a knowing smile and walked forward together.
The driver retrieved Cynthia's wheelchair, and Mathis, completely ignoring Milo and Bianca, immediately went to lift Cynthia into it.
Watching Bianca and Milo walk away hand-in-hand, Cynthia frowned and asked, "Mathis, how did she get released again?"
Mathis replied flatly, "I'm not sure what happened. Let me call the officer in charge of the case."
He quickly gathered most of the details and relayed them to Cynthia.
Cynthia immediately demanded that Mathis pull strings with the doctors at the Jagger hospital to rig Bianca's psychiatric evaluation.
She wanted to ensure Bianca rotted in prison this time.
Bianca's group arrived at the hospital's psychiatric wing. Bianca was feeling incredibly anxious, fully aware that Mathis would abandon all morals when it came to Cynthia. Him interfering with her results was practically a guarantee.
Seeing her nervous, Hector pulled her into a quiet corner and whispered, "Don't panic. Just do the evaluation normally. The Jagger hospital won't rig the results."
Bianca looked at him in confusion. "Why are you so sure?"
Hector explained, "Last night, on my way to get you, Mathis's assistant, Zane, called me. He told me to use your severe clinical depression diagnosis to get you off the hook. He even said that if I ran into any trouble, I should call him directly.
"You never told me you had severe depression, so I had no idea. If I had known, I would have reminded you to tell the police immediately last night, and you wouldn't have had to sit in that holding cell for so long."
Bianca frowned deeply. Mathis? Helping her out of the kindness of his heart? He was the one who called the cops last night. If he wanted to suppress the incident, he could have done it easily.
But he hadn't helped her; he had firmly chosen to stand by Cynthia.
Seeing her disbelief, Hector elaborated, "After I bailed you out last night, Zane called me again.
"He said you shouldn't worry about the hospital tampering with today's evaluation. He claimed Mathis was backed into a corner and had no choice but to call the police yesterday, but he has no intention of hurting you and won't let you go to jail."
Bianca asked skeptically, "Do you believe him?"
He acted one way at home and completely differently in public. Bianca had no idea which face was real anymore.
