Summary for Chapter 315: The Transactional Marriage That Imploded

Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 315 by Ansel Bick

A bone-deep chill gripped Cynthia. Grand romantic promises weren't the scary part; the terrifying part was realizing that every single sweet word spoken by the man she thought loved her had been a meticulously crafted lie.

Before she could even respond to Mathis's question or voice the mounting confusion in her head, the house was suddenly swarmed by a team of agents.

The call abruptly disconnected.

Cynthia couldn't process it. How had everything collapsed so fast?

First, her father mysteriously vanished, then Mathis inexplicably revealed he knew Lamont wasn't his son, and now she was being raided.

Her head buzzed violently, completely unsure of what to do.

The agents flashed an arrest warrant and immediately dragged her out in cuffs, leaving behind only a terrified Lamont and a panicked nanny.

Lamont burst into hysterical tears.

The nanny immediately called Mathis. "Mr. Jagger, your wife has been arrested!"

"Cynthia Quinn is not my wife," Mathis corrected calmly. "Drop Lamont off at this address. Tell them he's their grandson."

Mathis forwarded a location to the nanny—another upscale residential district—which gave the woman some peace of mind.

Lamont was dropped off at Jules Jagger's house. Jules's family had only met Lamont briefly during a Fall Gala years ago. His sudden arrival left Jules and his wife thoroughly bewildered.

"What is the meaning of this?" Jules asked the nanny in confusion. "Why did you bring this kid here?"

"Mr. Mathis Jagger instructed me to bring him," the nanny replied.

Too intimidated to march over and question Mathis, Jules reluctantly kept Lamont.

Bianca was just as confused as Jules. She shot Mathis a highly suspicious look.

But she didn't ask. When it came to Mathis, if he didn't want to talk about something, prying wouldn't get a word out of him.

Mathis's phone rang again. He left it on speaker, almost as if he were trying to broadcast something to Bianca.

She just thought he was being overly dramatic. There was really no need for all this posturing.

A steady, authoritative voice came through the speaker. "Mr. Jagger, thank you for your cooperation over these past two years. Every major player in that underground money-laundering syndicate has been apprehended."

Relief washed over Mathis. "When are you issuing the public statement? Can my non-disclosure agreement be voided now?"

"We're expediting the approval process as we speak," the man replied. "The official announcement goes live first thing tomorrow morning. And yes, your NDA is officially terminated.

You can tell your wife everything. This situation was admittedly an oversight on our part. We nearly cost you your marriage."

The man continued, "However, Neville Quinn has fled. We've already issued a nationwide warrant for his arrest. As for the fallout with AuraByte Technologies and Aeterna Dynamics, our colleagues at the financial crimes unit will coordinate with you to handle the fallout."
