Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 325 by Ansel Bick
In the past, Bianca had only proposed that agreement because she genuinely had no intention of ever remarrying.
But now, she couldn't betray Milo's love. She was never going to sign something like that again.
Bianca remained perfectly silent. Mathis scrutinized her face, desperately searching for a flicker of emotion.
He needed to know if it was because she simply didn't trust him, or if she was unwilling to commit to staying single because she actually wanted to remarry.
Eventually, he arrived at the crushing answer: she wanted to marry someone else.
Mathis stared blankly at Bianca's profile. Her luminous, flawless face felt as though it were thousands of miles away from him.
He thought back to the single month they had shared in true bliss.
The way she had trembled beneath him, begging for mercy. The joyful way she had agreed to their promises of forever. She had even said she wanted to have a boy and a girl.
And now, she had completely written herself out of their story, choosing to walk into another man's embrace.
Thinking of everything they had shared in the past and the bleakness of their future, Mathis couldn't hold it back any longer. The corners of his eyes turned red, and that familiar, gut-wrenching pain seized him once more.
In the long passage of time, he had lost the girl who had once loved him with such reckless abandon.
He would probably never understand the sheer, solitary courage it took for Bianca to marry him all those years ago.
Courage and genuine love were finite resources. Once consumed, they couldn't simply be regenerated.
Mathis thought bitterly, *When she finally gave up on me, her heart must have hurt exactly as much as mine does now.*
Mathis's heart was being sliced to ribbons, but Bianca didn't even notice. Her focus was no longer on him.
The rest of the drive was swallowed by silence. When they arrived at the restaurant and stepped out of the car, their striking looks—coupled with the massive online buzz surrounding them that day—prompted several passersby to secretly snap photos with their phones.
Mathis asked Bianca to take his arm, pleading softly, "Can you at least give me a little dignity in public? Just put on a show for them!"
She rejected him flatly. "There's no need. Once we divorce, the world will know anyway. I'm not you; I'm a terrible actor."
Mathis was annoyed by her jab, but he didn't dare provoke her. He had absolutely no idea how to pacify her anymore.
Left with no choice, Mathis tried a different angle. "Aren't you worried about Dawnstar's stock crashing? After all, my entire empire will belong to Aveline one day."
It was his roundabout way of telling Bianca that he would never marry another woman.
Bianca didn't believe a word of it. In fact, she scoffed.
What man could endure a lifetime without a woman by his side? Mathis was certainly no saint.
