Timothy noticed Cillian's worry and laughed. "You're overthinking it, Cillian. No matter which of the two men Bianca chooses, won't she end up fine?

If I were you, I'd place bets on both sides and keep everyone happy."

Cillian told him to shut up. The man was usually sharp, but tonight he was completely oblivious.

As an outsider, Timothy felt Bianca could never escape Mathis's grasp.

No matter how brilliant she was in tech, she could never outmaneuver Mathis in a battle of wits.

Besides, a persistent man always wears down a stubborn woman, and they had a daughter together. Could they ever really make a clean break?

Milo's background and character were solid, but going up against Mathis for a woman? He didn't have much of a winning hand.

Even Timothy could see that.

"If you ask me, Bianca should just stay with Mathis. Sure, he might have messed around, but how many rich men don't play the field? She should just sign an ironclad post-nup and take a cut of his fortune."

Cillian's expression grew even darker. He couldn't think of a single way to help Bianca break free from Mathis either.

Unfortunately, Cillian didn't know many single women; otherwise, he would have stepped in personally to set Mathis up on dates.

Him constantly harassing his ex-wife wasn't a solution.

After dinner, Mathis had his driver take Bianca's car, while he and Bianca sat together in the back seat.

Bianca had no intention of talking to him. She closed her eyes to rest for the entire drive.

But sitting next to Mathis, it was impossible for her to actually fall asleep.

Even knowing that his actions over the past two years were out of his control, she still found him incredibly dangerous.

Mathis asked, "Aren't you even curious about what happened to the house I gave Lamont, or the ring I gave Cynthia?"

Bianca cracked her eyes open, looking at him lazily. "Don't tell me they were both fake."

Mathis smirked slightly. "The property deed for the house I gave Lamont was fake. I had a special version forged—even if they ran a check, nothing would show up.

The ring was real, but it's going to be fully expensed. It wasn't custom-made either; I just happened to have one around. I only like spending money on you."

Bianca gave a disinterested "Oh" and closed her eyes again. Mathis tried to find another topic but came up empty.

It seemed like no matter what he said, she simply didn't care. It was infuriating.

When they got back, Mathis insisted on playing with Aveline before going to bed. Bianca let him be.

After he spent some time playing with his daughter, Bianca went to take a shower.

During that time, Evita called, asking if Mathis had handled Rosalind's mess yet.
